Wieliczka Salt Mine in Poland

Any mine, anywhere is sure to create a stir. Small, dark tunnels underground are the stuff of nightmares! However, this once royal salt mine is a bit unique, beyond it being the only mine in the world to have been continuously active for 700 years, it also boasts a 150 mile underground network of 2,350 chambers and galleries (yes, galleries!) which spans over a 1,000 feet deep into the earth. Yet, unlike the coal mines of America, this Polish UNESCO World Heritage Site is like a glimmering, elegant, underground haunted cathedral with its richly ornamented Chapel of St. Kinga and fabulous figures, monuments, and altarpieces carved by miners over the centuries out of its salt walls.

International Pasta Day Calls for an Italy Post!!🍝

One of the greatest experience in all of my travels was a small cooking class that I took in a small villa on the hills of Chianti in the Tuscan Countryside. It was the most amazing experience. We drank (a lot of) wine🍷, we picked herbs from their rooftop garden to use while cooking🌿, we listened to Italian opera as the wind blew through the open windows, we gazed at the sunflower fields as we ate 🌻. It was magical. Let me add this experience to your itinerary!
