What's the plan? Why ban? The vast majority of internships at major organisations are in London. Why hasn't anything changed? No, it's not.

Seeking to ban any internship or work experience over 2 weeks (10 working days) that does not provide at least the minimum wage. If you don't live in the capital, you either have to be from a wealthy background or forgo the opportunities that internships bring. This is not fair and with businesses not doing anything to curb the practice, legislation needs to be brought in. Surely, this is just lif

e. The problem is, many roles with parliament are unpaid. No politician wants to say anything as they'll lose all their free labour. Why is providing a basic, minimum wage beneficial to organisations that would otherwise have internships? They can then attract the top talent based on merit as opposed to wallet. This will improve the standards across the board and create more social mobility. What can I do about it? Hound your local MP. You vote for them and if you can convince them that enough people are on your side they'll quickly change their mind. They need to get in touch with Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, Iain Duncan Smith and attempt to get a white paper or EDM written

It's not right. It's not fair and affects vast proportions of the UK. Let's stop this practice now.
