2024 Holiday Season Arrives at Disneyland Resort November 15

The holidays are a time for gathering with loved ones, reliving warm traditions and giving thanks. For many families, Holidays at the Disneyland Resort is an embodiment of what makes this season special!

Guests beginning to make travel plans to experience the holiday season and the debut of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Disneyland park can mark their calendars for one of the most magical times of the year: Holidays at the Disneyland Resort runs November 15, 2024, through January 6, 2025! Here’s how guests can look forward to making spirits bright during this especially enchanting time at The Happiest Place on Earth.

New Holiday Experiences Debut in 2024

This holiday season, Santa Claus and select characters will visit and create special memories with guests at the Fantasyland Theatre at Disneyland, which will also feature cookie decorating, craft making, storytelling and atmospheric music throughout the day.

Santa will also make stops for photos at Redwood Creek Challenge Trail in Disney California Adventure park, Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, Disneyland Hotel and Pixar Place Hotel through December 24. (Guests can also look for Santa in the finale of “A Christmas Fantasy Parade” at Disneyland park!)

As we previously revealed, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse will debut charming new looks in Disneyland, reminiscent of writing warm letters to loved ones during the holidays. As another holiday treat, we are sharing a preview of the outfits some of their pals will sport on Main Street, U.S.A., as seen at the top of this post! Guests can also keep an eye out on Buena Vista Street in Disney California Adventure and throughout Disneyland for characters making holiday appearances.

From November 22, 2024-January 1, 2025, the Chip and Dale’s Ornament Trail pursuit will debut at Downtown Disney District, where guests can search for special ornaments hidden among the holiday trees and shining lights adorning the district.

Guests will be able to purchase an activity map at select shopping locations in Downtown Disney and the Hotels of the Disneyland Resort and redeem it for a collectible holiday keepsake at World of Disney or Disney’s Pin Traders.*

Guests will also be able to enjoy dozens of limited-time, holiday-themed food and beverages throughout Disneyland Resort. We are thrilled to share some fan favorites will return, like the Mickey Gingerbread! Among the novelties that will be available is the returning Holiday stainless steel tumbler.

Beginning November 19, “Goofy’s Kitchen Celebrates the Holidays!” will delight guests at Disneyland Hotel and, for the first time, Mickey’s Holiday Pajama Party breakfast and brunch at Storytellers Cafe at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa will serve holiday-themed meals, accompanied by seasonal décor and select characters donning new pajamas. Reservations will be available on Disneyland.com at a later date.

Beloved Holiday Décor, Offerings and Entertainment Returns

A breathtaking and distinctly Disney holiday atmosphere will spread across Disneyland Resort, with sparkling décor creating ideal backdrops for family photos. Guests can hear holiday stories about Walt and the Disney family during the Holiday Time at the Disneyland Resort Guided Tour, including highlights such as holiday themed treats and reserved viewing for “A Christmas Fantasy Parade.”**

All three Hotels of the Disneyland Resort will feature festive fun, including a massive gingerbread house inspired by pastries and candies on display at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and all-new décor at Pixar Place Hotel. The hotels will also have festive in-room celebrations available for purchase and special activities and entertainment during the holidays.

Bookable experiences at Tenaya Stone Spa will bring relaxing holiday comfort, such as the Underneath the Tree Signature Massage and Warmth of Holiday Foot Treatment. And for guests wanting to extend their stay in the holiday magic, staying at the Hotels of the Disneyland Resort is a great way to do so, as they are just steps away from both theme parks and the Downtown Disney District.

One very special Disney holiday tradition is watching “snow” fall from above and fireworks fill the air during the“Believe...In Holiday Magic” nighttime spectacular, which will perform nightly at Disneyland! And as an additional wintry treat every night, guests will also experience “snowfall” along the Rivers of America, outside of “it’s a small world” Holiday, on Main Street, U.S.A., and the west end of Downtown Disney.

In Disney California Adventure, hundreds of fountains dance to festive music and shimmering “snowflakes” fill Paradise Bay during the nighttime spectacular “World of Color – Season of Light” presented by Pandora Jewelry.

Select attractions will receive seasonal overlays, including a world tour of good cheer for all ages at “it’s a small world” Holiday and seasonal surprises inspired by “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas” at Haunted Mansion Holiday in Disneyland park. The jolly residents of Radiator Springs get ready to “deck the hauls” with Luigi’s Joy to the Whirl and Mater’s Jingle Jamboree in Cars Land at Disney California Adventure park.

Get a Taste of Disney Festival of Holidays and Disney ¡Viva Navidad!

The welcoming and vibrant Disney Festival of Holidays returns to Disney California Adventure, highlighting a diverse season of celebrations in Southern California with a wide range of flavorful food and beverages, a variety of live entertainment and more.

Guests can look forward to new and returning menu items at the Festive Food Marketplaces and select dining locations in Disney California Adventure. Guests may choose to purchase a scannable Sip and Savor Pass in either a four-coupon or eight-coupon version, which can be redeemed for select food and nonalcoholic beverages from participating locations.***

Upbeat live entertainment expands the festival’s tapestry of diversity and brings high energy to the holiday fun. A slate of new cultural performance groups – along with returning favorites – will perform joyous music and dance across a range of genres. Plus, guests will be able to enjoy holiday rhythms as iconic Disney characters march to the beat of festive music during the “Mickey’s Happy Holidays” cavalcade.

Paradise Gardens at Disney California Adventure will be home to the returning Disney ¡Viva Navidad! festivities, which includes daily crafts, live music, menu items and décor inspired by Latin American traditions – with a dash of Disney flair. Here, guests may also encounter Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, The Three Caballeros and Mirabel from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Encanto.”

The Disney ¡Viva Navidad! street party will perform on select days, featuring The Three Caballeros accompanied by Mexican folklórico dancers and mariachis, Brazilian samba dancers and percussionists, and more. On days when the Disney ¡Viva Navidad! street party is not scheduled, guests may encounter Mirabel from Disney Animation’s “Encanto” or Miguel from Pixar Animation Studios’ “Coco” in festive street performances that celebrate the holidays and the gift of familia, outside the entrance to Paradise Gardens Park.

Plus, Celebrate the Opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Disneyland Park Beginning November 15

Adding more excitement alongside the holiday season, Tiana’s story will come to life in a new way at Disneyland Resort when the attraction Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opens at Disneyland on November 15, 2024.

With original music, new renditions of favorite songs from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “The Princess and the Frog” and intricate details throughout, guests will join Princess Tiana and jazz-loving alligator Louis as they encounter familiar faces, make new friends and travel through the bayou.

The attraction builds upon Princess Tiana’s storytelling that guests can already experience uniquely at Disneyland Resort, whether it’s shopping at Eudora’s Chic Boutique Featuring Tiana’s Gourmet Secrets or dining at Tiana’s Palace quick-service restaurant.

The reimagined merchandise locations coming to Bayou Country in Disneyland park, Ray’s Berets and Louis’ Critter Club, will feature themed merchandise inspired by the attraction that will further immerse guests into the world of Princess Tiana.

The Making of the Haunted Mansion Holiday Gingerbread House

Seasons screamings! It’s never too early to start enjoying gingerbread, especially when it’s inspired by none other than "Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas." Available now at Disneyland Park for the Halloween and holiday season, the Haunted Mansion has gotten a festive makeover from Santa Jack, more commonly known as the Pumpkin King, Jack Skellington.

As guests venture further into the mansion, they’ll notice the sweet smell of gingerbread, which means one thing – the return of the beloved gingerbread display!

This year’s creation is brand new and we’re happy to share a glimpse into how this HOWL-iday display was made, including some dazzling details on the story behind the house and its characters. Let’s look behind the curtain.

The Story Behind the Creation

Nestled in the ballroom of the mansion lies the gingerbread house and this year, Jack Skellington, or should we say Santa Jack, has recruited Dr. Finkelstein, Halloween Town’s resident mad scientist, to conjure up some ideas for this year’s creation. And boy, did he deliver!

As Dr. Finkelstein used his mad scientist expertise, he incorporated some of his experiments into the gingerbread house. Along with his trusted assistant Igor, he’s brought his own Gigantic Gingerbread Zombie, Lil’ Franky, to life! Well, almost. The doctor and his partner are testing out different tweaks to complete the transformation. And unfortunately for Lil’ Franky, that involves his head popping off and on – what a headache.

As guests venture into Haunted Mansion Holiday this season, they should be on the lookout for this haunted haunt and Dr. Finkelstein’s creations.

Frightfully Fun Facts

This gingerbread display was quite the task to bring to life, not only for the Disneyland Resort culinary teams, but also the technology teams, Disneyland Live Entertainment, and the Disneyland Bakery who crafted this mesmerizing creation.

In fact, it took over 150 hours to build and program the animation and lighting. And that’s not even including the hours spent baking the tasty pieces that bring it all together. We’ve gathered some mind-blowing facts to show just how much goes into making (and baking) this 5-foot-tall, 6-foot-wide display a reality.

Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree Foodie Guide

Guests can get ready for some foot-stompin’, finger-snappin’, and tons of snackin’ because the Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree is coming to town! Fans of the Country Bears and barbecue are in for a treat when this space is soon transformed at Disneyland Park.

The Bears are taking over Hungry Bear Restaurant and putting their own twist on it with the Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree. After touring from coast to coast performing their tunes, Henry, Wendell, Big Al, and the rest of the gang have put together some of the favorite regional barbecue dishes they discovered along the way, just for guests. Guests will want to try these bites, including the mouthwatering Smoked Barbecue Combo Platter with a selection of house-smoked meats, which will also be available on mobile order. For those music fans out there, guests can feast upon these finger-lickin’ dishes as they enjoy some of the Country Bears' greatest hits!

Disneyland Halloween Foodie Guide 2024

It’s time for guests to grab their appetites and let the ghoul times roll because Halloween Time is kicking off soon at Disneyland Resort. Starting August 23, ghostly goodies will materialize across the resort along with frightful fun and décor to get guests in the spirit.

The culinary teams will cast a spell on guests’ taste buds with their ghostly delights. This year, there are a (skele)ton of new and returning bites guests won’t want to miss. From sweet delights, like the new Caramel Apple Cheesecake at Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe or the returning Ursula Shake from Schmoozies!, to savory selections like the Villainous Double Cheeseburger at Smokejumpers Grill, it’ll be hard to decide “witch” treats to try!

For a sweet twist on a classic attraction, guests can drop into Haunted Mansion Holiday, where this beloved home to happy haunts is transformed by the Pumpkin King himself – Jack Skellington – with décor inspired by Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas. Nestled within the mansion, guests can follow the sweet smell of gingerbread and they’ll find an all-new mesmerizing display within the attraction itself!

Over at Disney California Adventure Park, guests can join in the festivities of Día de los Mu***os with Plaza de la Familia from Aug. 23 through Nov. 2, 2024. Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party (SOLD OUT)

For those attending a sinister soiree at one of the sold-out Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party nights, we’ve got some ghoulish goodies to look forward to. As the sun goes down, guests can venture over to Flo’s V8 Cafe for some savory delights only available during this after-hours party – the Garlic-Parmesan Chicken Strips or the Orange Chicken Strips. There’s also plenty of guests’ favorite Halloween treats at the park that will carry over to the nighttime to enjoy too. Guests can even bring a part of the frightfully fun festivities home with them with the Minnie Mouse: Hocus Pocus Halloween Dress-up Sipper, which can be found at various locations throughout the park only during the event. Guests can enhance their boo-tiful evening with the Oogie Boogie Dining Package at Wine Country Trattoria, a spellbinding 3-course pre-fixe meal featuring a nonalcoholic beverage perfectly paired with a preferred viewing for the “Frightfully Fun Parade.” Those dining there during the day with an event ticket can add this on to attend later in the evening. Those wanting some extra treats with sweets will love the Oogie Boogie Bash Dessert Party, which includes a decadent selection of tasty desserts, unlimited soft drinks, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. Those over the age of 21 will also get one alcoholic beverage at the dessert party. This enhancement also gives guests access to a “Frightfully Fun Parade” preferred viewing area.

We’ve got our treat bag ready and can’t wait to sink our fangs into these ghoulish goodies.
