Disneyland Resort 2025 Event Dates and Details

By: Disney Destinations
December 5, 2024

Since 1955, Walt Disney’s original park has been The Happiest Place on Earth for guests of all ages, visiting from around the world. And 2025 is going to be a year like no other!

Today we are thrilled to share what’s to come to the Disneyland Resort in 2025, including the start date and details on the festivities for the upcoming 70th anniversary, along with exciting news about all-new offerings, returning favorites, and so much more your clients can look forward to in the coming year and beyond.

Let’s start with a glance at the slate of limited-time events and festivals coming to Disneyland Resort in 2025.

Now let’s dive in for all the magical details!

70th Anniversary Celebration Begins May 16

Beginning May 16, 2025, and continuing through summer 2026, the Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration will honor seven decades of happiness and many moments of joy in the making. Guests will be able to “celebrate happy” with limited-time entertainment, specialty food and beverages, collectible merchandise and more.

Brilliant, colorful décor will adorn the entire resort, including an elegant medallion on Sleeping Beauty Castle. Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and some of their pals will dress up in new outfits in Town Square in Disneyland, designed just for the celebration.

At Disney California Adventure park, guests can look forward to an all-new nighttime spectacular, “World of Color Happiness!” The show is inspired by Walt Disney’s words from the opening day park dedication from seven decades ago: “To all who come to this happy place...welcome!”

In the evenings, the exterior of Carthay Circle Restaurant will invite everyone to “celebrate happy” during a special moment filled with lights, music and projection effects.

The high-energy parade “Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration!” will also return to California Adventure.

Over at Disneyland park, the fan-favorite “Paint the Night” parade will return featuring stunning color, vibrant floats and more than a million brilliant LED lights. The beloved nighttime spectacular “Wondrous Journeys” will also dazzle Disneyland once again, enhanced with fireworks on select nights.

“Wondrous Journeys” nighttime spectacular and “Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration!” parade will temporarily pause to make way for seasonal Halloween and Holidays entertainment offerings, then resume at a later time.

Disneyland will also debut a new character cavalcade, as well as a new projection show on the facade of “it’s a small world.”

Created in honor of the anniversary, an upbeat new theme song “Celebrate Happy” will be heard throughout various entertainment offerings.

Must-Visit Experiences and More Happiness in the Making

No matter when your clients choose to visit Disneyland Resort in 2025, there will be so much to see and do. Guests can also enjoy many recently debuted and reimagined experiences, including Pixar Place Hotel, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, enhancements to New Orleans Square and Bayou Country at Disneyland park, and more.

“Walt Disney – A Magical Life” will debut at the Main Street Opera House theater at Disneyland park on May 16, 2025. The attraction will feature a cinematic presentation of Walt Disney’s journey, culminating in a visit with Walt in his office, brought to life for the first time ever through the magic of Audio-Animatronics storytelling.

In 2025, construction will begin on the expansion of Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure. To make way for new experiences, the last date for guests to ride Red Car Trolley will be Feb. 8, 2025.

And lots going on in the Downtown Disney District, too! After welcoming new restaurants, the Avengers Reserve retail store and The D-Lander Shop in 2024, Downtown Disney continues its transformation with more dining and shopping on the horizon. The Disney Wonderful World of Sweets shop and Parkside Market dining hall are scheduled to open in early 2025.

Your clients will get to “celebrate happy” with limited-time entertainment, colorful décor, themed food and beverages, collectible merchandise, and so much more!

“World of Color Happiness!” Debuts at Disney California Adventure Park

This all-new “World of Color” show is inspired by Walt Disney’s words from the opening day park dedication from seven decades ago: “To all who come to this happy place… welcome!”

This nighttime spectacular will explore “happy” through a kaleidoscope of emotions, hosted by Joy and the other Emotions from the hit Pixar Animation Studios films, “Inside Out” and “Inside Out 2.” Along the way, the Emotions manifest music and moments from favorite Walt Disney Animation Studios’ and Pixar Animation Studios’ stories, including “Turning Red,” “A Goofy Movie,” “Tangled,” “The Lion King” and so many more.

"World of Color Happiness!” will transform Paradise Bay with a brilliant array of signature fountains, dynamic lighting, colorful lasers, fog and dramatic flame effects, painting musical memories with all the wonder that only “World of Color” can create.

“Paint the Night” Parade Returns to Disneyland Park

This fan-favorite, dazzling nighttime parade will make its grand return to Disneyland for the 70th celebration, lighting up Main Street, U.S.A., with stunning color and more than a million brilliant LED lights.

Mickey Mouse uses his vivid imagination to harness the power of Tinker Bell’s pixie dust and “Paint the Night” in Disney dreams, bringing to light beloved characters and stories from Pixar and Disney Animation films such as “Monsters, Inc.,” “Cars,” “Toy Story”, “The Little Mermaid,” “Beauty and the Beast,” and more.

The “Paint the Night” parade features innovative floats, vibrant costumes, incredible special effects, unforgettable music and energetic performances.

“Wondrous Journeys” is Back at Disneyland Park

At night, Disneyland will become a magnificent canvas with the return of this beloved nighttime spectacular. “Wondrous Journeys” celebrates the legacy of Walt Disney Animation Studios classics that have inspired Walt Disney’s original magic kingdom. Throughout the show, you embark on a journey filled with artistry, music, storytelling and heart as you experience moments from beloved stories like “Hercules,” “The Princess and the Frog,” “Peter Pan,” “Frozen,” “Big Hero 6,” “Moana,” “Encanto” and more.

The show features state-of-the-art projection effects that transform Main Street, U.S.A., Sleeping Beauty Castle, “it’s a small world” and the Rivers of America. On select nights, the show will be enhanced with fireworks.

“Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration!” Parade at Disney California Adventure Park

As part of the fun, “Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration!” returns to the streets of California Adventure. This delightful daytime parade is filled with incredible music, dynamic and colorful floats and nearly 30 favorite characters from Pixar Animation Studios films, including “Luca,” “Turning Red,” “Up,” and more.

“Wondrous Journeys” nighttime spectacular and “Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration!” parade will temporarily pause to make way for seasonal Halloween and Holidays entertainment offerings, then resume at a later time.

Additional Entertainment and More Magic to Come

Even more details and magical touches will be coming to the resort for the 70th celebration. Brilliant, colorful décor will adorn the entire resort, including an elegant medallion on Sleeping Beauty Castle.

Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and their pals will all come dressed for the party in Town Square in Disneyland park, in custom looks designed just for the occasion.

Disneyland park will debut a new character cavalcade called “Mickey and Friends Celebrate Happy!” As it winds its way along the parade route, favorite characters will encourage you to dance and clap along in an energetic and contemporary celebration of seven decades of happiness.

New Haunted Mansion Experiences at Disneyland

By: Disney Destinations
November 26, 2024

Welcome, foolish mortals. Since our announcement about the Haunted Mansion grounds expansion, we know our fans have been waiting with ghoulish delight to learn more about what's to come to this area of New Orleans Square in Disneyland Park. Today, we are excited to unveil new details and first-look photos. Take a peek – if you dare!

Enhancements in New Orleans Square

The new Magnolia Park recently opened, situated in front of the train station between Tiana’s Palace restaurant and the Haunted Mansion. This beautiful, elegant park-like setting is shaded with some oak and Ficus trees, and is a great spot for guests to take a break with a Mickey-shaped beignet from Mint Julep Bar, or enjoy some live entertainment.

New, Expanded Grounds of Haunted Mansion

Just beyond the gates to the Haunted Mansion attraction are the new, cultivated grounds. This expanded area has an enchanting aura that calls guests to explore further!

When entering this new part of the queue, before discovering the expanded grounds, guests may notice a familiar Spanish fountain that once sat in the middle of Magnolia Park.

Guests will find that the new gardens are being closely guarded by a pair of stately ravens. Ravens often represent a connection between the world of the living and the spirit world. They will also encounter the crouching figure of a cat. The statue sits tucked away among the wispy grasses, as he appears ready to pounce.

Around the bend, guests will discover a personal garden retreat designed by one of the mansion’s inhabitants, Master Gracey. A fountain against the garden’s wall features the face of a sea maiden with unruly hair and startled eyes, as if she’s caught in a storm. Inside an old, wrought iron gazebo sits a bench, a well-read book, and astrological armillisphere and a smoking pipe that has been left behind. It’s the perfect place for Gracey to rest and ponder his past.

Further along the path, guests will find the eccentric garden of Madame Leota, the resident Seer. It seems as if the entire garden is dipped in a mystical energy; as if every plant, statue and trinket is under Leota’s spell. There is a small statuary of oddities – frogs, lizards, rats and a cymbal playing monkey – all frozen in time like they are under an incantation. The garden has a repeating motif of fortune telling orbs. The large oak tree that graces the center of the courtyard has been decorated by Leota with colorful ornaments, chimes and bells that ring out in the breeze.

And in the rear of the garden, guests will find the Mansion Greenhouse, belonging to all the mansion’s ghosts. An ornate structure of iron and glass, it gives residents with a “green thumb” a chance to cultivate the most unusual of plant species.

Haunted Mansion Operational Details

The beautifully expanded, stately grounds of the Haunted Mansion officially opens today.

Guests using a mobility device are now able to use the main queue and entrance to the Haunted Mansion. After riding, they will leave the attraction using a new, accessible elevator exit that extends the story of the attraction with a gallery of Walt Disney Imagineering artwork and more.

The virtual queue will no longer be utilized, and the attraction is once again available for guests on Lightning Lane Multi Pass, as well as on Lightning Lane Premier Pass.

The Haunted Mansion is currently decked out for the hallow-days in its Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay, running through the holiday season in early 2025.

New Shop – Madame Leota’s Somewhere Beyond – to Open This Winter

As previously announced, we will also be opening an all-new retail shop next to the Haunted Mansion, adjacent to the exit of the attraction. Madame Leota’s Somewhere Beyond is expected to open this winter.

Somewhere Beyond is a carriage house that used to store the same ornate carriage that now remains on the mansion’s front yard. It also contains a bo***ir on the mezzanine level. At one point, it was home to the mansion’s head caretaker, but later Madame Leota took up residence. It is filled with her eclectic furniture including a crystal ball, feinting couch and the original parlor chandelier that Leota used in séances at the mansion.

When the first floor of the carriage house became a shop, Leota kindly lent her desks, cabinets and chests as antique artifacts to be showcased along with the merchandise. As a powerful medium moving between worlds, Madame Leota comes and goes a lot and is excited to welcome guests to her home, soon.

Here, guests will be able to find gifts themed to Haunted Mansion and “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas,” including apparel and accessories, collectibles, home décor and more. Guests will surely want to “hurry back” – eerie and ghostly treasures will materialize throughout the year.

We can’t wait for everyone to experience these new stately grounds!
