That sunshine today was good for the soul. ☀️ Liam ran around and laughed a lot. It made me so happy seeing him so happy. We had been stuck inside way too long. Now it’s even warmer and we are planning on going back outside when he wakes up from his nap. ☺️

We have been hiking and exploring more of West Virginia since moving back to Ohio. Did you know there is a National Park there? West Virginia has really surprised us! It’s only a few hours away so we are able to visit on the weekends. We have been in every season but Winter. We would love to see all the waterfalls frozen. ❄️

I took some photos of Liam wearing his cute, personalized sweater from .earltawny . He is almost 17 months now and full of life. Things I never want to forget at this age:
-He is obsessed with balls and is really good at throwing, kicking, and making baskets.
-He loves throwing things on the kitchen floor and hearing the sound it makes.
-He loves hide and seek and is getting really good at hiding.
-His favorite foods are strawberries, tomatoes, and cheese.
- He laughs the most when Dada chases him.
- He will stop to dance and play peekaboo anytime and anywhere.
- He loves to stomp his feet and clap his hands.
-He loves his stuff animals especially manny the manatee and gives them all hugs and kisses.
-He would rather run, run, and run some more than do anything.
- He does well hiking with Mama and Dada and is starting to walk/hike more on his own.
- He likes to pick out his own books.
- He smiles so big when you sing to him.
-He is very social and goes up to everyone.
-He stands on his head a lot.
We are so thankful for our Liam. He is such a happy, energetic, sweet boy. You make us so proud, Liam. We love you!

Visiting Florida’s Natural Springs and seeing Manatees in the wild was a dream come true. The best time to see them is December-February! We just posted a NEW YouTube Video from our trip! Check it out to see the Manatees and other wildlife. We are planning to go back this Winter. Here’s to hoping Liam will still do okay kayaking. 😅

Today’s my Birthday! We kicked off birthday week by going on a local hike and we are ending it by going on a road trip. Excited to spend three days in nature chasing waterfalls and fall colors. 🍁

We kicked off the first day of October by visiting Van Buren Acres. This was an amazing farm! There were so many activities for kids of all ages. 10/10 recommend the apple cider slushes.

We love Nelson-Kennedy Ledges State Park in Ohio. It’s fun walking through the maze of rocks. We were glad Liam was in the front. It would have been tricky if he was in the back backpack.

It had been a dream of mine to visit a sunflower field. We were going to use one of these photos to announce that I was pregnant again. Unfortunately, I started having problems when we came home from the farm. I ended up in the ER Sunday and needed surgery. We loss the baby. Thanking the Lord extra for our Liam and holding him tight this week.

We are totally that family that rollerblades around the neighborhood. We have been rollerblading just as much as hiking this summer. Ohio has a lot of good bike trails to use. Can’t wait to buy little guy his own blades soon now that he can walk. 😉
Also signing out of social media for the next week. We started this travel page around seven years ago and I have never taken a break. 🙃 We will be relaxing on a lake this week. I hope to read an entire book while Liam naps. 🤞

Guess this National Park. Bonus points if you know the exact trail. This was our second time doing this hike. I remember reaching the end and someone saying “This isn’t worth the Instagram”. If you are only hiking for social media then you’re missing the whole point. 🙃

Tips for Long Road Trips/Traveling with a Baby:
1. Brings Lots of Toys/Books- I hide some of his favorites before a trip so he is excited to play with them.
2. Start Young- Liam has been on road trips since he was one month so he is used to being in the car.
3. Sound Machine- Did you know your phone has a sound machine?
4. Practice Sleeping in the Pack and Play- I had Liam sleep in his Pack and Play before we even went on a trip.
5. Start with Shorter Road Trips- We started with an hour road trip then two hours then six. We went on a two week road trip from Ohio to Maine when Liam was three months old.
6. Bring Lots of Food/Snacks- We hike with a bottle and to go formula. I would give bottles in the car so we didn’t have to stop. Now that’s he is older we stop and feed him in his stroller a lot.
7. Make Everything Fun- I try to even make the gas stations fun by pointing out all the interesting people/things and trying to find toys to show him.
8. Be Ready to Make More Stops- Liam is the most active baby so we have to make a few more stops than we use to. When he was young I would lay him flat on a blanket to get his wiggles out. Now we let him stand/crawl.
9. Try to Drive Early/During Nap Time- Liam takes his best naps in the car.
10. Invest in a Good Stroller and Carrier. Our stroller can go over dirt and grass very well. We love our baby carrier so much that Liam is still using it at one years old. We just got a new backpack one from REI though.
11. Just Do It- This is what David told me when I asked him. It is definitely hard at times but gets easier the older Liam gets.

Our Favorite Hikes in Utah’s Mighty Five National Parks:
🥾Arches National Park
-Delicate Arch Trail-3.2 Miles- This arch is just incredible. Photo 1
-Devils Garden-7.9 miles- We love that you pass 7 different unique arches in one hike. You can also shorten the trail and see less arches. Photo 2- Landscape Arch- The longest arch
🥾Bryce Canyon National Park
-Navajo Loop and Queens Garden Trail-3.1 miles- We did this in the winter and it was so magical. We only saw a handful of people. Photos 3-4
🥾Zion National Park
-Zion Canyon Overlook Trail- 1 mile- We do this trail every time we are in Zion. You can’t beat the view at the end for such a short hike. Photo 5
🥾Canyonlands National Park
-Mesa Arch Trail-.7 miles- short and amazing Photo 6
-Upheaval Dome Via Crater View Trail- 1.3 miles- Another great short hike. Photo 7
🥾Capitol Reef National Park
-Hickman Bridge Trail-1.7 miles- The bridge at the end is huge! Photo 8

We drove to Lake Erie on July 4th. We visited Headlands Beach State Park. It has a nature preserve that we walked through. It is getting difficult to get a good photo of little buddy. He really likes chewing on his finger. 🤪 He loves the water though! 🙌

We have lived all over the USA and have traveled to most of the states. The state that surprised us the most was South Dakota. This state has two national parks and the wildlife is amazing. We definitely want to make a return trip and explore more.
