Affect Studio Berlin | Los Angeles Design Studio

Affect studio is invested in the exploration of space as an expressive and communicative medium and generating immersive experiences that bridge analogue craftsmanship with emerging technologies. Founded in 2011 by architects Sofia Borges and Bjørn Hoffmann, affect studio is a design firm based in Berlin and Los Angeles. With Sofia branching into writing and curation and Bjørn exploring set design

, both work at the intersection of a number of parallel fields across the arts. Focusing on an interdisciplinary design approach, the studio draws inspiration from and collaborates with artists, fashion designers, product designers, and filmmakers, resulting in an architectural language rich in sensorial quality and the human touch. Affect studio creates animate and engaging commercial and residential spatial experiences that challenge our latent inhibition to our surroundings and promote a dialogue between handcraft and the digital realm.
