Exciting news for runners, hikers and bikers!

Spring is here, albeit cold and wet! A couple updates and upcoming events out at the Club!

Just a reminder that trails are only open for hiking/running to people who hold a membership or a day pass. You can pay for a daily pass at the Map kiosk in the red box. Memberships can be purchased online: https://www.iolawintersportsclub.org/Membership.html

Dogs are allowed on the trails at IWSC but must be kept on leash.

We have started the first stages of trail development for new Mountain Bike Trails that will be open this year at the IWSC - please no bikes on the trails until we are officially open. If you would like to volunteer to help build trails please show up at trail work days or email [email protected] to sign up!

Winter has finally arrived. Trails are building up at IWSC!

Silent Sports started in Waupaca, by Greg Marr, skiing and cycling enthusiast. He has a memorial bench at Iola Winter Sports Club as well as a plaque on a stone at the county line on the Tomorrow River State Trail, which he helped get extended into Waupaca County.

They're looking for a new editor....

Dear Silent Sporters: With the May 2025 issue of Silent Sports Magazine going to press, which will complete my 5th year, I will be stepping down as managing editor. I have enjoyed working on every issue because the contributors have been you, the great people of silent sports. Several people are being considered to take over, but if you are a silent sporter who is at the right time in their life and may be interested, please email me at [email protected] with your interest and your questions. This job - truly more of a passion - goes anywhere your laptop goes, and the people you meet, the places and events you are invited to, and the things you learn are second to none. Our graphic designer who creates the beautiful pages you see is super-incredible to work with as well as uber-talented. And I will help with the learning curve on the processes involved during the transition. If you wish to be part of carrying on the great Greg Marr's dream, shining the light on all of us and what we do, our great people and events and businesses, trails and waterways, you know how to reach me.
