Labor Day 2015. Going down was a fantastic, euphoric experience, and for many people, a big mistake. There's only one way back up.

We visited this old Civil War fort right outside of Savannah, GA on 7/5/15.

Took a short trip to Cumberland Island. After we got off the ferry, we hiked 7.7 miles in the scorching heat to the Yankee Paradise backcountry site for 1 night. Beautiful trail. Not too excited about the ticks and chiggers though.

3 new NPS units this weekend. Spending 1 night in the backcountry on Cumberland Island NS, and then tackling Fort Frederica and Fort Pulaski the following day.

5 more days til we head off to Hawaii and knock out 6 more units. And we have plenty of awesome activities planned.

We had this whole park almost entirely to ourselves. You can enter and explore nearly every building in the park. It was a very fun and unique eperience.

Lots of Civil War history in this town. Very unique park, and we had the entire place mostly to ourselves. I guess that's the benefits of visiting parks when it's 5 degrees out. I suspect it be even better in a warmer season.

In Feb 2015 we took a trip to DC and visited a total of 30 NPS units. And got hit by that big winter storm mid-trip.

Chamizal

During New Years 2015 we took a little trip to Chamizal, Gila Gliff Dwellings, White Sands, Fort Davis, Big Bend, and Amistad. A freak winter storm altered our plans a bit, but didn't ruin any of the fun.

The FGF crew is splitting up temporarily next month and going on two separate trips simultaneously. 4 days in Washington DC and 30 days in Kunming, China. Yeah, one of us got the raw end on that deal. Nevertheless, many photos will be taken.

Arches National Park was as great as you'd expect it to be. Of course we had to hike to Delicate Arch when we were there.

Leaving the land of the canyons, the adventurers found another wondrous landscape nearby. A place filled with mysteries arches, a place of unimaginable beaut...

September 1, 2014. Like Canyonlands, Arches is a spectacular park with highly enjoyable hikes. Only thing is there are a lot of hikers here so there's not much solitude. Other than that, it is a truly amazing place to go for an adventure.

August 31, 2014. To put it plainly, Canyonlands is amazing. The views are breathtaking, the trails are exhilarating, and the amount of adventure you can experience here is nearly unmatched. We hiked the Druid Arch trail which I highly recommend if you can handle the 11-mile round trip. Our experience in this awesome park was simply unforgettable.

We have a long overdue, albeit short, trip coming up to Utah. We will be visiting Colorado National Monument, Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park.
