I really enjoyed writing this newsletter.

To the tune of Blitzkrieg Bop by the Ramones. No apologies. I was about two seconds away to actually recording this.

The fact that I am awful is what makes me wonderful.

The blintzes in a straight line /
They’re baking real fine /
Soufflé rising really high /
The Blintz-krieg bop /

After Yom Kippur's long fast /
Blintz cravings unsurpassed /
Break the fast with a cheesy blast /
The Blintz-krieg bop /

Hey ho, let's go make a blintz soufflé!

An opportunity to help Lone Soldiers, local businesses and me.

In coordination with The Michael Levin Base and other organizations, I’ll be leading free Food Tours for Lone Soldiers (members of the IDF without family in Israel). For the past nine months, these brave young men and women have been fighting on the front lines defending our freedom and protecting our homeland and deserve to be spoiled with a fun and delicious experience.

This project is very close to my heart. One of the hardest things I’ve ever done in my life was my service in the IDF. Serving in a combat unit is hard enough by itself, even more so when serving as a chayal boded (lone soldier). I look back fondly on the kindness, generosity, love (and food) from Israelis on the street and visiting tourists I experienced when I was a soldier. Their appreciation and unsolicited support sustained me through my service.

For a gift of $100, you can sponsor a food tour for one IDF soldier. Your gift benefits lone soldiers, the vendors I work with who will get a boost in business, and help keep me employed - It’s a trifecta of good.

I have already raised enough to give tours to 50 soldiers. Will you help me get to 100?

Donations can be sent via Venmo

This chocolate torte is the best kosher for passover cake I've ever eaten. The ingredient behind its success may surprise you!

This parve Coconut Chocolate Torte will have your guests questioning whether it's actually Kosher for Passover (spoiler alert: it is).

Over the past few weeks, a close friend has gotten to know the Ben Ami family from Kibbutz Be'eri. When Raz Ben Ami was released by Hamas and finally got back to Israel from the hellish captivity, after almost two months she was kept in inhumane conditions, she was devastated to find out that her husband Ohad is still kept in Gaza.

Raz is recovering from the trauma she suffered at the hands of Hamas, and to top things off - in addition to her trauma - Raz has been left without a home to come back to.

The Ben Ami couple’s home in Kibbutz Be’eri, one of the kibbutzim which were completely demolished, and its population decimated to a near extinction, has been burnt to a crisp among all the houses bombed and burnt by the despicable terrorists, leaving Raz alone, dealing with her trauma, missing her husband and worried sick for his well being, and homeless.

Raz cannot imagine going back to Be’eri after rehabilitation. After losing everything she and her husband had, their entire life, memories, souvenirs and belongings, Raz is not able to rebuild their demolished home, and the post-trauma and nightmares she suffers from debilitates her.

Unfortunately to date the government has provided very little.

Shockingly so.

Ben Ami's three amazing daughters fight day and night to free their dad, protesting and doing everything they can.

We are asking for your generous support and donations to help Raz with a new living arrangement, preferably somewhere more central, where she can feel safe, find a job and rebuild her life as she prays to see her husband back from captivity, safe and sound soon.

Please donate. One hundred percent of your donation will go directly to the Ben Ami family.

Please share. This is an opportunity to have a direct impact and help a family in a an unimaginable situation. If you have any questions, or have any other way you can help, please be in touch.
