On the 11th of Muharram, Ibn Saad was burying the bodies of the Kufians until around noon on the 11th day. After that, while the holy body of Imam Hussain (AS), the son of the final Messenger of God peace be upon them and his faithful companions were left under the sun, he ordered to separate the heads of the other martyrs of Karbala from their bodies and with the intention of getting closer to Ibn Ziyad and Take the prize with him to Kufa.

These pure heads, which together with the head of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) reached 72 heads, were divided among the tribes and moved to Kufa.

أَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ اللّٰهِ، أَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بْنَ رَسُولِ اللّٰهِ، أَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بْنَ أَمِيرِ الْـمُؤْمِنِينَ، وَابْنَ سَيِّدِ الْوَصِيِّينَ،أَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بْنَ فَاطِمَةَ سَيِّدَةِ نِسآءِ الْعالَـمِينَ، أَلسَّلاَمُ عَلىٰ الْـحُسَيْنِ، وَعَلىٰ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْـحُسَيْنِ، وَعَلىٰ أَوْلاَدِ الْـحُسَيْنِ، وَعَلىٰ أَصْحَابِ الْـحُسَيْنِ.

السَّلامُ عَلَيكَ يَا ابَا الْفَضْلِ الْعَبَّاس
السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ أَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ
السَّلامُ عَلَيكُمْ وَ رَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَ بَرَكَاتُهُ
lAbbas ibn Ali ibn Abi Talib (A.S) also known as Abu al-Fadhl and Qamar Bani Hashim. Abbas is highly revered in Islam for his loyalty to his Imam Husayn ibn Ali (A.S)and his role in the Battle of Karbala in which he was the standard-bearer for the Ahl al-Bayt. Abbas is buried in Karbala, Iraq, where he was killed during the Battle of Karbala on the day of Ashura.

اَلسَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ يا مَوْلايَ وَابْنَ مَوْلايَ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكاتُهُ
“Oh Allah! You be the witness that I have dispatched this young man to the battlefield to wage war on the enemy – who from the view of handsomeness, perfection, and character was most similar to Your Prophet (saw). And whenever I used to be eager to see the Holy Prophet (saw) I looked upon his face. Oh Allah! Deprive them from the blessings of earth, make their population scattered, inducing discard among them! Because they have invited me with the promise of uprising in my support, instead they arose against me and are least reluctant from spilling my blood.”

Hazrat Qasim (A.S) came to Imam Hussain (A.S) and begged for permission to go and fight. Twice Imam Hussain (A.S) refused saying "Qasim you are young and your mother's only son". Hazrat Qasim (A.S) was very disappointed. He went to his mother. When she saw her son so disappointed she remembered that just before he died, Imam Hassan (A.S) had written a letter, given it to Umm-e-Farwa (S.A) saying ,"If ever you find Qasim in difficulty, give him this letter." She gave Hazrat Qasim the letter. In the letter it was written, "My son Qasim, a day will come when my brother Hussain will be facing an enemy army of tens of thousands. That will be the day when Islam will need to be saved by sacrifice. You must represent me on that day." Hazrat Qasim read the letter. He smiled. He rushed to Imam a.s. and gave him the letter. After reading the letter Imam Hussain (A.S) said, "O my brother's son, how can I stop you from doing what your father wanted you to do. Bismillah, go. May Allah be with you". Imam Hussain (A.S) tied Imam Hassan's (A.S) turban on the head of Hazrat Qasim (A.S) and helped him mount his horse. As Qasim was riding out, Imaam Hussain a.s. said "Inna Lilla-hi Wa Inna Ilai-hi Raji'oon".

Ali Asghar (A.S) was only six months old in Karbala. He was the son of Imam Hussein (A.S) and Rubab (S.A). On the day of Ashura it was very hot and there was no water for the family of the Imam (A.S) for three days. His mother could not feed him either, as there was no milk. When the Imam (A.S) called out “Is there anyone to help me?” there was loud crying from the ladies. The Imam (A.S) came into the tent. Hazrat Zainab (S.A) said: “O my brother Hussein, since Asghar (A.S) heard your call, he has not stopped crying.” The Imam (A.S) said, “Bring him to me. I will take him and see if he can get some water.” Rubab (S.A) brought the baby Ali Asghar (A.S) from his crib and kissed him goodbye.
Imam Hussein (A.S) took the baby in his arms and going to the army of Yazid said: “See how thirsty my Asghar is. His lips are dry and he can hardly open his eyes. He has done no harm to anyone. Give him some water.”
Hearing this, some of the soldiers started to cry, but Umar Saad (la) said to Hurmala (la): “Stop Hussein’s words”
Hurmala (la) aimed an arrow at the baby’s neck. The arrow hit its mark and the baby was killed in the arms of his loving father, Imam Hussein (A.S). The Imam (A.S), kissed the baby then took a step forward, and then went backwards. He did this again and again 7 times saying:
"انا لله و انا الیه راجعون"

AUN O MUHAMMAD IBN ABDULLAH (A.S)
On the night before Ashura Bibi Zainab (s.a.) said to them, "My sons, tomorrow there will be a battle. I can not ask you to fight because you are young. But if anything happens to Imam Hussain, while you are still alive, I will be filled with shame." Both the boys stood up and said
"Mother, we have the blood of Ali and Jaffer in our veins. Our grand fathers were warriors whose fame will always be remembered. Do you think we can possibly shame them? More over we are the pupils of Uncle Abbas.
Mother, unless you forbid us and stop us from fighting, we shall go to the battlefield and show the enemies of Islam how bravely the children of Islam can fight.
All we want from you is a promise that you will never weep for us. Or souls will never rest in peace if you grieve for us after we are gone". Tears of joy and pride flowed down Bibi Zainab's eyes as she embraced her two boys.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ اَيُّهَا الْعَبْدُ الصَّالِحُ الْمُطِيْعُ لِللهِ وَلِرَسُولِهٖ وَلِاَمِيْرِ الْمُؤمِنِينَ وَلِفَاطِمَةَ الزَّهْرَآءِ وَ الْحَسَنِ وَ الْحُسَينِ عَلَيْهِمُ السَّلاَمُ
الْغَرِيْبُ الْمَوَاسِىْ اَشْهَدُ اَنَّكَ جَاهَدْتَّ فِىْ سَبِيْلِ اللهِ وَ نُصْرَتَ الْحُسَيْنَ ابْنَ بِنْتِ رَسُوْلِ اللهِ
وَ وَاسِیْتَ بِنَفْسِكَ وَ بَذَلْتَ مُهْجَتَكَ فَعَلَيْكَ مِنَ اللهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ اتَّآمُّ
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ اَيُّهَا الْقَمَرُ الزَّاهِرُ
اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا حَبِيْبَ ابْنَ مَظَاهِرِ اَلْاَسَدِىِّ وَ رَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَ بَرَكَاتُةُ-

Habib Ibne Mazahir (A.s)
Upon reaching Karbala, Habib repeats his expression of loyalty to Imam al-Husayn (a.s). As soon as he observed the great number of Imam's enemies and small number of his companions, Habib asked Imam al-Huasyn (a.s) to go to a nearby tribe of Banu Asad and to ask them to join Imam (a). With the permission of Imam, Habib hurried to the tribe and started preaching them and encouraging them to join the Imam. However, 'Umar b. Sa'd stopped the tribe from joining Imam (a) by sending an army to them. Habib fought like a hero and killed 62 people of the enemy. Just then, Budayl b. Maryam 'Aqfani attacked him and hit him on the head with his sword. Another enemy hit him with a spear, causing him to fall off the horse and down to the ground. When the tribe of Banu Asad were burying the martyrs of Karbala, they buried Habib b. Muzahir, who was one of their elders and trustees, separately and with a distance of 10 meters from Imam al-Husayn's (a) tomb. Later, his tomb was included in Imam al-Husayn's (a) shrine and was located in the southern porch.

Today is the 2nd day of Muharram

On the 2nd day of Muharram, Hussain(a.s)’s caravan reached Karbala. Thousands of Yazid’s soldiers were already there, having arrived long before the Imam.
The small tribe living in Karbala gathered around Hussain(a.s)’s caravan. Imam Hussain(a.s) enquired about the price of the land in Karbala. He then bought the entire land.
