Some of my favorite penguin pics from our time in Antarctica. There were opportunities to get on shore twice a day once we were past the Drake Passage. We kayaked, snowshoed, hiked, camped and took zodiac cruises.

It was a stunning day to visit the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca. One of the few tourist sites in Casablanca, it’s well worth a visit to the city for this alone.

Fun facts: Tens of thousands of worshippers come during Ramadan to pray at this, the third largest mosque in the world (after Mecca and Medina). It took just six years to build with craftsman working round the clock on the marble, cedar and titanium interior.

We’re going to the Galapagos (and you can, too!).

TRAVEL TIP TUESDAY!
There are so many reasons not to overpack for a trip. Among the most important? You don’t want to be distracted by having to keep track of your bags. Instead, focus on your personal safety and your valuables such as your passport and electronics.

Also important is to not be on the wrong end of lost luggage. Ugh! This can so easily ruin a trip.

Finally, you may have to pay A LOT to check your bags unless you have airline status that includes free checked bags.

TRAVEL TIP TUESDAY!
Nowhere is it more important to wear the right gear than in Finland during the winter. It can be bloody cold with temps dipping down to negative 30° F!!

But with gloves and mittens, a wool base layer, fleece jacket, down pants and jacket, and few more essentials, you’ll be comfortable (really!) and ready for this adventure of a lifetime.
