Golfers can play various courses, enjoy competitive and social golf, improve their game and are part of a social network as well. The variety of golf formats allows members to tailor their experience. Some love the camaraderie in the team Ryder Cup series highlighting Match Play. Some prefer the opportunity to play 9-hole matches after work during the week. They get their weekly golf fix while kee
ping the weekend open for the family. However, there are some players that prefer the more traditional 18-hole tournaments, played on the weekend. Snee Farm CC, RiverTowne CC, Patriots Point Links, Dunes West and Charleston National Golf Clubs are all on the Spring League circuit. Many of these same courses are played in the Summer League as well. The Traveling League explores a wider range of courses along the Atlantic Coast. Play goes as far north as Pawley’s Island, includes a wide variety of Charleston Courses, and travels as far south as Kiawah Island. The economy of scale allows Golf League members to play organized golf, tournament golf, receive fantastic prize packages and enjoy social gatherings for prices that individuals could not get on their own. The Golf League of Charleston has truly created a “win-win” relationship between the golf courses and the players. A goal of The Golf League is to have players treated like valued members at the various clubs they play. In addition to the Golf Venues, The Golf League offers social events, handicap services, and has their own Teaching Professional to help improve players’ games. The Golf League has recently been invited to participate in the National Tour Challenge held in Orlando, Florida. Myrtle Beach Golf Holiday has also recently teamed up with The Golf League of Charleston. Many players from Charleston will earn entry to compete in the 2011 Golf.com World Amateur Handicap Championship in Myrtle Beach. The Golf League of Charleston is now signing up members!
