I have had some questions about the group booking that I posted. So I wanted to clarify. Yes, I am also going on this cruise if I can get a group together. I will be planning fun for the group. if you would like to book please call 417-529-8276 or 417-476-5451. You do not need a passport for this cruise. You will need birth certificate, Marriage license (if name doesn't match ID) and photo ID. I always recommend getting a passport, since it is so much easier, but you are not required to have it. The rooms are 2 per person but if you have more people, we can book up to 4 people per cabin. Transportation to Galveston is not included. I do recommend arriving a day before the cruise day. I can look into a block of hotel rooms if we have enough people. The deposits are due September, but don't wait to book because the prices seem to be going up and room locations are limited. One last thing to report about our weekend. The Keeter center has A legacy of love quilt collections. They receive quilts from others and sell them. I got to pick one up this time. So excited. Julie Etter

Turn down service each night. We have brunch included tomorrow so we don't need the included continental breakfast. We also didn't need another quart of milk. We still had some from last night. We did get more waters. A nice relaxing evening. Julie Etter

So glad we got to come back to the cooking class. We arrived checked in and went to dinner. It's included in the retreat price. We also received several gifts. Can't wait until cooking class tomorrow. Thanks James Etter for making this happen. Julie Etter

Had a great day at our cooking retreat. We had breakfast with the chef, a tour of the dairy barn, sampled chocolate milk from the dairy. Cooked our own lunch. Toured the Ralph Foster museum. James Etter thanks so much for bringing me here. Julie Etter

We made it home. It was a super late night we arrived at the house at 3:45 am. I drove from Kansas City. Will post pictures of our last day and some from my camera. Today is unpacking and resting. We also had to go grocery shopping since we don't get to go to lido anymore. Had a great trip. Glad Hayley, Gideon,Seth and Judy got to come fun family memories. Sunday June 18th 2023. Today was our very short day in in Ketchikan Alaska. We went on the wildlife boat ride and George inlet lodge Dungeness crab feast. Only in port from 8am until noon. Thursday June 15th 2023.

Leaving Sitka June 14, 2023

Today was Sitka day. We went on a wildlife small boat excursion and lunch at Fin Island. I didn't get too many pictures with my phone but we saw a humpback whale, some sea otters, and eagles. We also ate large snow crabs, rib roast, and salmon. They also had a fire ring for smores. Once again we got to the ship after all aboard. That's what is good about ship tours. Today is Sitka. We docked at 8am. Our tour is at 11:30am. We walked around a bit. Ready for some yummy crab.

One more post. At glacier bay. They have a polar bear plunge. I am the only one in my group that decided to participate. It was fun. So to date I have swam across the Panama Canal. And now Polar bear plunge at Glacier Bay Alaska.

More Glacier Bay. Tuesday June 13th 2023. Ate dinner before we arrived at Icy Straight Point (Hoonah). Then just James,Seth and I went on a tour to look for bears. It was nice we saw some deer and at least one bear. Back to the ship we left at 10pm. Seth and I went to late night food. Internet is spotty so I post when I can.

Tuesday June 13th 2023. Today was Glacier Bay. We entered the bay around 6am. The rangers came on board. They are on board with us the entire time we are in the bay. The glacier was not very active as far as calving. Only saw a few chunks break off. It was a wonderful view. Alaska 2023

More Glacier Bay June 13,2023 It is an all day trip in and out of the bay such wonderful sights it will take several post. There are several different glaciers you get to see.

Glacier Bay today. We entered the bay around 6am. The rangers come on board and stay with us the entire time we are in the bay. It is a national park. There are several glaciers to see. The Captain will turn the ship around so all sides of the ship have equal chances to see. Alaska cruise Tuesday June 13th. This is a long day it will take several posts.

Whale watching time Monday June 12th 2023. Got to see several whales and some feeding activity. We also had dinner on the boat. Forgot to take pictures. Reindeer sausage Gideon loved them, shrimp cocktail, fish and shrimp chowder, pasta salad, pita and hummus, veggies and ranch, Ling cod. I enjoyed this tour very much. We normally go with a small private tour for whale watching. But with Grandma Judy and Gideon this tour with a larger boat and more accessibility. I felt we made the right choice.

Monday June 12th 2023. We didn't get to Juneau until 1pm. Them we had a ships tour. Went to the Mendenhall glacier and a whale watching tour. On the ship I went to another origami class. The morning started out foggy and cold. But it cleared up later. Having a wonderful time. Glad we got to come.

There is something special about cruises to Alaska. Even if you wouldn't normally like cruising. There are certain things you experience on a cruise that you won't get from a land vacation. Like this morning cruising into the Fredrick sound. Mountains in the background. Then a deep fog rolls in. The ships horn blowing, the water whispering. Peaceful all around. Monday June 12th 2023
