It has been a considerable span of time since our last commencement of the sacred ritual, disrupted by the circumstances afflicting both our nation and the entire sphere. Following a hiatus spanning nearly three years, with the weaving of new members into our tapestry and the rejoining of those from the days of old, we found ourselves once more on the path of unleashing the album "Life is Suffering" upon the realm of Sri Lanka, within the shadowed embrace of the Ominous Gathering 2023.

Dhishti, in conjunction with the arcane conduits of Raaksha Studios and Productions, extends our humble gratitude to all who lent their presence to the Ominous Gathering 2023, bolstering the ethereal essence of the Sri Lankan Underground Metal movement and supporting the artists who took their rightful places upon the stage. Your unwavering support warrants our reverence, as you embody the true warriors of the Sri Lankan Underground Metal movement.

Eternal salutations and reverberating ominous vibrations to Genocide Shrines, Nefertem, Agathi, and Pharmakon Messiah, who heeded our call and graced the Ominous Gathering 2023 with their presence. We express our gratitude for the malevolent harmonies you conjured, the toil and devotion you displayed, and the punctuality and professionalism that facilitated the seamless organization of this event.

Special recognition is due to Naushan Abbas and Sulphur Sounds, for the assistance they provided us both on and off the stage, navigating the intricate webs of technicalities and unforeseen trials. Hails to our esteemed Yazmin Yousuf and the resonant vibrations of Decibel.lk for their amplification of our endeavours and the capturing of live rituals. Eternal Hails and Horns to the adept coven of Raaksha Studios and Productions Dinuka Eshan, Sharintha De Alwis, Yashan Wickramanayaka Peshan Jayakody and Panchali Fernando —for their awe-inspiring craftsmanship and unwavering dedication, which ensured the monumental success of this gathering.

Mighty hails and resonating horns resonate towards Sandesh Shenoy who traversed great distances from the realm of India to partake in our ritual, as well as to Kodikara for his steadfast support. Let us not forget the beneficent assistance of Karunarathne from Infinity Studios, who fortified our undertaking in the realm of technology, and the artistic prowess of Thusara Dilshan, capturing our essence through the lens of his craft.

Lastly, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to our kin, our companions, and our devotees from every corner of this land, who have fortified us throughout our journey, unyielding in their support and their cries of devotion from the very forefront of our rituals. Once more, we express our gratitude to all who have assisted us in various enigmatic ways, even if their names elude us in this sacred moment.

The Sri Lankan black metal band Dhishti are named for a Sinhalese term referring to demonic possessions that in ancient times were believed to be the cause of mental illness. Their new album "Life Is Suffering" draws upon these old beliefs (which have not completely died away) and the lyrics also use a language that originated over 2000 years ago. The album comes recommended for fans of Shining, Forgotten Tomb, Silencer, Bethlehem, and Dissection, and you won't want to miss the song from it that we're premiering today (see the link below). It will be co-released by Satanath Records, Australis Rec, Slava Productions, and Tragedy Productions.
