A fabulous day strolling around Testour - famed it’s cheese and Olives - we had an incredible lunch at a local Agritourism location and then continues on to the UNESCO site of Dougga. Just stunning. Built around 150 AD with imposing temples and large areas of living accommodations it is a unique site and is situated overlooking a picturesque valley of red farming lane, olive groves and villages.

Octant Hotels · Santiago is where all the senses of the Alentejo awaken. A place where the Vicentine Route points you in the direction of wine, gastronomy, and the sustainability that drives new practices and activities. A place where verdant natural scenery and beaches of the softest sand are just a short drive from the city, offering the chance to recharge your batteries and make the warmest of memories. A genuine South-west, where you can discover sustainable ways of living and being.

"Here, in Santiago do Cacém, we pay tribute to the Alentejo of tasty traditions, from the most deeply rooted to the most contemporary. After all, we are like a gigantic kitchen: a kitchen with accommodation, where you create among friends, where you tell stories with a glass of wine in one hand and a recipe to share with someone in the other. We are always happy to teach you everything we know, but we are just as keen to learn from our visitors. We all give a little bit of ourselves; so, rather than offering just another hotel stay, we give you the most genuine of culinary experiences. To do so, we rely on Chef Luís Batalha and his team’s many years of experience and dedication to Alentejo cuisine, from the art of bread-making to traditional sweets and desserts. Whether you want a more structured programme or prefer to decide on a whim, we will arouse your curiosity, and whet your appetite, but at your pace."

Hotels Vila Monte is a southern retreat in Moncarapacho. An abundant area, as far as the eye can see, where the days and hours pass as slowly as you like. A place where the orange groves spread perfume and the sea brings flavors and experiences that enhance the traditions of southern Portugal, in its good Mediterranean spirit.

"Welcome to the genuine Algarve getaway. Here, between the mountains and the ocean, we give space to flavors and traditions. We add tradition to contemporaneity between rooms and a collection of suites, which reinterpret the Algarve environment in the architectural features or in the decoration that incorporates local handicrafts.

With a private villa measuring 330m2 and two excellent dining areas, luxury happens in a simple way, because time stands still, because care and curation go hand in hand. Services are at your disposal 24 hours a day. In summer, the outdoor pool invites you to take a refreshing dip; in winter, the heated pool is all you need to catch your breath. Do you remember the last time you took a deep breath, that you found meaning? Maybe it's on the next dive."

Surrounded by a leafy pine forest overlooking the sea Hotels · Praia Verde is the place where Mediterranean inspiration guides the slow and long appreciation of the pure state of nature and the people, flavors, and unique features of this region. Those arriving for the first time discover the most welcoming luxury in the small simplicity. Those who return find local hugs and never-equal experiences that make this Algarve the purest.

"The rooms are designed to escape as a couple or as a family, the restaurant is inspired by the most rustic flavors of the Mediterranean, enhanced by a strong flame in a wood-fired oven — this whole atmosphere translates the incessant search for what is welcoming, homely and meticulously cared for.

The human side is unique because the roots are well established, in what was the first Octant of all. With an outdoor pool and bar, surrounded by the calm of the pine forest, there are walks, workshops, and golf courses to complement a stay of disconnection from the outside world. There are other services at your disposal 24 hours a day: from the pools to breakfast, because your rest doesn't have hours, just desires."

At Octant Hotels · Ponta Delgada, Azorean sophistication and natural beauty meet right in the center of the city. Between the cosmopolitan lifestyle of the marina and the more exotic interior of the island of São Miguel, the contrast that is established between the ocean and the green feeds an adventurous, sustainable spirit that is deeply in favor of local ecosystems.

"In the heart of the city, we have 123 rooms and suites overlooking the sea, the À TERRA restaurant supplied by local producers and recipes, the Lobby Market and a new complete SPA, a gym with 24-hour access, Conference Center, and a panoramic outdoor pool.

Taking advantage of the natural environment of São Miguel, it is so easy to move from this atmosphere of sophistication to the more rustic and genuine side of the island, where the landscapes tell ancient stories, through geographic cuts that allow for experiences of nature and adventure that can only be done here. and only here they feel. It is often said that each person is an island. This one — believe me — awakens more of you, more of us."

Octant Hotels · Lousã is a retreat in the heart of the central region where you can see one of the richest historical and natural heritage in Portugal. In the old Viscondesa do Espinhal Palace, the charm of the historic surroundings intersects with the charm of the surrounding fauna and flora, making the generous mountains pulsate again. Through the experiences, through the routes, through the villages afterward: there are so many reasons to come and never really leave.

"Here, in the heart of the historic center of the village, is located the Palácio da Lousã, which represents the stylistic and architectural evolution between the 18th and 19th centuries. An 18th-century emblazoned building, formerly the Palace of the Viscondessa do Espinhal, which is classified as a Historical Heritage of Public Interest - having marked several generations of inhabitants due to the impact of the benevolent Viscountess.

But from this historic conservation, new memories and contemporary confluences are created, around a leafy mountain range. Those who come here through sport, photography, and natural observation, read well the contours of this mountain range from where the Castle and Schist Villages, rivers and waterfalls, wild boar, and deer can be observed. In its outline, the mountain becomes the ideal place to practice adventure sports, where nature will always be challenging you to overcome yourself. It is therefore not surprising that these landscapes whet your appetite. There are traditional game, chestnut, and pumpkin confections to discover at À TERRA to comfort you. But if something remains to be satisfied, Octant Hotels · Lousã is generous and will have something delicious to offer, without rushing."

With contemporary architecture, in harmony with the nature that surrounds it, the interiors of the Octant Évora cautiously reflect the traditional aspects, with wood in rustic tones, the whites, and blues typical of the Alentejo, or the organic and handcrafted materials that enhance the surrounding culture.

The 56 rooms and 16 Villas extend the relationship with the outside beauty — all rooms have an outside seating area and the villas have a private balcony, terrace, and pool. The True North operates 6 dedicated adventure boats. Their adventure boats are 20’ runabouts. We have deliberately chosen this configuration to provide greater comfort, practicality and safety.

Travel buyers can connect with True North on Squirrel Fish and get access to all their latest images, videos and other useful digital resources. If you don't yet have your free account on SquirrelFish get in touch and we can set that up.

"Our boats are much more comfortable than rubber boats. They feature ample seating and when the boat is not underway, it is possible to stand up and walk around. This is a definite advantage when engaging in activities such as fishing, snorkelling, diving, and photography. Our adventure boats are fully surveyed by the Australian maritime authorities which means the wearing of life jackets is not required and we also believe that they are much safer than rubber boats when operating in crocodile country!

When helicopter excursions are offered – the helicopter generally remains on the True North for the duration of the cruise. This allows helicopter activities to be scheduled for most days of the itinerary and, for personalised excursions such as sunrise and sunset flights."
