VeloNotte Bergamo è parte di un progetto internazionale creato nel 2007 da Dott. Sergey Nikitin-Rimsky, storico di architettura e musicista, con l’obiettivo di ampliare, promuovere e far conoscere l’architettura e la storia urbana in modo innovativo, divertente e sostenibile.

Il 21 maggio Sergey Nikitin-Rimsky sara’ l’ospite del ciclobar per raccontare l’esperienza di Velonotte che la sua squadra ha portato nelle città come Londra, Istanbul, Roma, Berlino ed il 25 Maggio ripropone a Bergamo con il percorso tematico nuovo — “Favole di prati e piazze”.

PROTAGONISTI Lui è napoletano, lei tirolese, si sono conosciuti al Politecnico di Milano per diventare un grande bureau bergamasco fin dagli anni Sessanta. Insieme scriveranno anche un manuale: "Tecnologia delle costruzioni" (1986, con Piero Calza).

Il percorso di Velonotte Bergamo 2024, includera’ una delle preziose e purtroppo ancora assai sconosciute opere della coppia Teresa Arslan & Francesco Ginoulhiac nel quartiere di Loreto.

BERGAMO BOOKS TO INSPIRE №1 — Lucky Bergamo: in the beginning of the 1980’s, three young architects Manuela Brambilla, Guya Bertelli and Matteo Invernizzi, fresh after graduating from the Italy’s most prestigious school, Politecnico of Milan, realized their native city offers the finest selection of contemporary architecture. This made them sit and produce a guidebook, inviting their friends and colleagues to join. The result is a high-quality, balanced analysis of what was done in the 20th century.

It was still quite prosperous times in Italy (“Milano da bere”, paninaro etc.), yet it took ten years to find sponsors for the book, which was first published only in 1994. Since then, the guidebook has served as the primary source for information on this city’s vivid architectural scene, as well as an example for other Italian towns who were only startinh to rediscover the significance of their Contemporary heritage.

Architect Matteo Invernizzi, one of these three founding co-authours, will be one of the speakers of the VeloNotte Bergamo “Favole di prati e piazze”. We also hope that soon that soon there will be a new edition of this book, which has become a bibliographic rarity. Hoping for an English-language edition too…
