Your Virtual Rafting Trip Down the Lunga River. It was a bit of a dull day but we decided to go rain, hail or shine. We were glad that we did. Plenty of flow, steering only. Lots of time to take photos. Thanks John for organising your group.

Lunga & Mbalasuna River

  • We now have 2 rivers to choose from. If the Lunga River is not flowing enough we will do the Mbalasuna River which is flowing all year round. Lunga River is more scenic with plenty of rainforest, birds, butterflies, this is a 4 hr trip. The Mbalasuna River is a faster flowing river which is a 2.5 hr trip.
  • LUNGA RIVER

  • We meet at the Golf Club at 8am then drive 45mins to the Parangiju Lodge out past the Tenaru School. You can either take your own vehicle to the lodge or come with me. From the Lodge we will travel another 45 minuites to the Rafting site in my 2 vehicles.

  • We then raft 17 klm back to just below the lodge where we will be picked up and taken back to the lodge. It usually takes 3 to 4 hours depending on the flow of the river. Whilst rafting we have Lunch along the river with a couple of swim stops along the way.
