People are talking about “tainted liquor in the room mini-bars” in DR - as if it’s an epidemic proportion.
2.5 million US residents visit DR yearly and the # is climbing. Tourism is a $7.2 Billion dollar industry in DR yearly.

What people are ignoring, is a handful of people in 2 years with issues at hotels, is not an epidemic. Tragic, absolutely. These resorts are MASSIVE. Resorts range from boutique to over 1,500 rooms on properties.

Here are some more facts:
- 6 people per day die from alcohol poisoning in the US
- 48 Million Americans get food poisoning yearly.
- 3,000 people die from food poisoning yearly in US
- 450 people die from Salmonella yearly in US
- 5,000+ people die from choking on food yearly in the US
- 7 people per day die in house fires in the US
- 3,287 people per day die in car crashes in the US (1.25 million people a year)
- 200 people die every year from anaphylaxis in the US (food allergies)
- 430 people die from accidental Carbon Monoxide poisoning each year in the US
- 4.7 million people are bit by dogs yearly, with 16 people dying every year in the US from the bites
- 700 women die from childbirth complications yearly in the US

Who knew??? FUN FACT of the day! ✈️✈️🛩🛩🛩... Know before you Go

You know that anxious feeling when you’ve just made a plane reservation, and now it feels so… final? Well, it’s not final. By federal law, every commercial airline must hold your reservation for at least 24 hours and allow you to cancel it within those 24 hours, even if you already paid (which you probably did!).

This law has actually been on the books since April 2011 and also requires commercial airlines to notify you of this right. For example, airlines aren’t allowed to suggest, whether on a website or on the phone, that your reservation is non-refundable during those first 24 hours. And whomever you deal with when making a cancellation request during the first 24 hours must offer full refund in regular form.
