“I am Jewish. My neighbor Zahia is Palestinian Muslim. Today, I brought her baklava, a homemade tea blend and homemade soap, and a large orchid. She took me into her arms and we cried. We talked for a long long time. Her husband served me arabic coffee and she served me stuffed grape leaves. They sent me home with more grape leaves, lamb for Greg, a kaffiyeh, and their last bag of cardamom coffee from Palestine. They talked about how nice Greg is for shoveling their snow. She said she would make kenafe ( my favorite Palestinian desert)for me.
Stop making change theoretical and abstract. It is knocking on neighbor’s doors and sharing coffee and sweets. It is telling each other stories. It is heart to heart, neighbor to neighbor. We are all human. We all want a place to call home and for our babies and grandmothers to be safe. Peace begins with me. “

Royal Caribbean’s website states, “Please note camouflage print clothing and accessories, as well as military-style clothing, is illegal in Antigua, Barbados, Grenada, Jamaica, St. Lucia, and Trinidad and Tobago. This style of clothing is reserved only for members of the military at these destinations.”

And yes, this even extends to backpacks, just ask this cruise passenger who got escorted back to the ship in Barbados for his camo backpack.

What a beautiful story!!!

Silver Medallion Member Lawyrn F. and her husband, Joe, were traveling from Detroit to San Juan in February, where they were set to board a honeymoon cruise the following day. Just after take-off, Lawryn realized she’d left her passport at home. She was inconsolable on the flight: Without the passport, she couldn’t board the cruise. And the couple couldn’t find a way to get the passport to San Juan in time.

This was my beautiful wife this past January getting ready to go in to take her exam for Chief Petty Officer. She was in between chemo rounds, and fighting fatigue, chemo sickness and chemo brain. When she got home and I asked her how she did, she said “I prayed my way through the exam so it’s all in God’s hands.”
Today, the Navy publicly released the advancement results for Chief Petty Officer and she was selected! For those of you that don’t know, being selected for Chief is a huge milestone in her career. I am SO proud of her!
This year has been a tough one on her, but she never stopped fighting. She always relied on her faith. She never gave up. She is a true FIGHTER.
Congratulations, Chief Select. I’m proud of you and I love you! ♥️
