This beach is Sandy Point and it’s only open Saturdays and Sundays from September through March. It’s a national wildlife refuge dedicated to sea turtles- which is why they close part of the year- so the turtles can nest safely.

We’ve got places available! Tourists are welcome back to the island starting tomorrow, Saturday September 19! Every person age 15 and older should come with a negative rapid throat or nose swab from no more than 5 days prior or a positive antibody test from the last 6 months. If you come without a test you can either take one here at one of the labs and quarantine until you get the results or just quarantine for your time here. We’ve all got to do our part to keep the good people of the Virgin Islands safe!

When the Corona Virus finally exhausts itself and the danger is over, let's do something good for our country...
Let's spend our vacation in the USA, including the US Virgin Islands, eat in local restaurants, buy American products, buy local meats, fruits/veggies and support local businesses. These businesses are going to find it very difficult to get back on their feet and survive without our help. They're suffering badly now.

Another don’t miss thing to do on St. Croix! I went to the distillery yesterday for the first time yesterday and all I can I can say is “WOW”! Not only are they making a quality product that is being widely distributed and coming soon to more places. They also are planting thousands of breadfruit trees here on St. Croix which, with their huge leaves, reduce CO2 levels substantially. With the goal of 20,000 breadfruit trees planted here- it would essentially make our island CO2 neutral! 1 breadfruit tree can feed a family of 4 for 50 years and they are being planted all over the tropics and wherever else they thrive to help battle hunger. The nutritious starchy fruit is rich in iron, calcium, potassium, magnesium, and fiber.

They always have the regular vodka but they are doing small batches of flavored ones with locally sourced products such as passion fruit, mango, smoked peppers and coming soon toasted coconut! I’ll just say that the toasted coconut smelled heavenly and I’m not sure what I’ll mix it with (maybe nothing!) but I’m going to need a bottle of that.
