A wide open sky, framed by snow-capped mountains is the view from each horse. Yo

The high, uninhabited valleys of the Rockies offer peace and contentment combined with the thrill of majestic vistas. This alpine land abounds in larch, spruce and fir trees, mountain animals and birds, meadows and parklands leading to the nearby snow capped peaks and ridges. EVER WONDER WHAT'S INVOLVED IN SETTING UP TRCR'S BASE CAMP?

After a whole year of planning and figuring things out a team of six volunteers set off to set up the camp over a 4-day trip. It is all hard work, rudimentary living conditions, problem solving, laugher and good memories. Have a look at this year camp rising.

Don't have plans for this summer vacation? We have five one-week rides in magnificent Waterton National Park starting tomorrow.

It is not to late to join us in one of them. visit https://trailridevacations.com/trail-ride-to-waterton-lakes/

Dear Trail Riders,

We scouted our summer base camp in the Waterton National Park area yesterday. Wow! We are so excited - What a site! We can’t wait to bring our guests here. This year we are staying on ranch (the real thing) next to the Waterton with a full frontal view of the majestic Rockies. BONUS! Our hosts will show and share stories of their quarter horse operation and the local history during our stay. You will not want to miss this immersive experience of riding the mountains, camping in tipis on a ranch, and learning about the area and horse culture.

We have a few saddles left. Check out this unique, all-inclusive, once-in-a-lifetime bucket list opportunity.

PS - The photos were taken one day after a subtantial Spring snow storm.

This article in the Rocky Mountain Outlook is about the making of a documentary about Mary Schäffer Warren and her trip to Maligne Lake. The documentary is called Wildflowers and is currently being completed.

I share this because Mary was a member of the Trail Riders in the early days, in fact a lifetime member.

If you go to Maligne Lake, you will find plaques about her but these plaques also talk about the Trail Riders of the Canadian Rockies.

Have a read … (the article does not mention TRCR, not sure if the documentary will do so).

A crowdfunding initiative is set up for the final push of the documentary film.
