The Roca Box Hop - pronounced [ROH] + [KUH] means “rock” in Spanish, and we couldn’t think of a more fitting name for this house, a whimsical home wedged between towering rocks in the beautiful Hocking Hills area of Southern Ohio.

The Ellwood a single story, minimal Mid-Century box hop which was designed to span a ravine that is directly over a waterfall! . The Ellwood is named after an influential designer based out of LA in the 70’s who was known for his minimal steel and glass (couldn’t be more box hop) designs, Craig Ellwood. ✨

Contrary to popular belief, all of our containers are insulated using at least 2” of spray followed by traditional batt insulation! With great climate control and a fireplace, making our box hops perfect for a cozy cabin getaway 🔥

Loading the container on the barge to be shipped to the island 🏝️ we couldn’t use the wheels that we normally use due to the weight capacity. To prevent blowing a tire we had to think outside the box 😉 and stuck a steel rod under the end of the container and rolled it onto to the barge Let us know your thoughts!
