Our last morning in beautiful Tasmania, was spent walking around town, the harbour and some stunning parks.
We enjoyed our time here and highly recommend the Bruny Island boat trip it was fantastic and the trip up to Mt Wellington, the scenery is amazing and the views breath taking.

Finally a lazy morning, with a slow pleasant walk along the beach and waterfront of Kingston, which was great the sun was out on a perfect spring morning.
Todays plan was to get back into Hobart and up to Mona very different art gallery. We wandered through this amazing and bizarre place at times a little shocked , surprised and totally amazed. Its definitely worth a look.
The first photo is a room full of old engine oil which give an awesome reflection and illusion.
The second photo is a wall of bags filled with water .
The third picture is a metal sculpture of trucks .
The fourth photo is an artist take of a Ferrari.
The last photo is the silver chill out room, which was way out there but pretty cool.
Once we had had enough we caught the ferry back into the city and took a slow walk back to our hotel all the time soaking up the sights and history of Hobart.

By 7am we were at the harbour, and drove straight onto the ferry. 20 minutes later we were on Burny Island, we had a look around for awhile and had something to eat.
At 1030 we had paid for a a boat tour of the island. We set off on an amazing journey dressed in out beautiful red jackets. The scenery was amazingly breathtaking as we made our way further south.
The beautiful clear water and stunning rock formations of the towering cliffs and wildlife, this part of the world is pristine. After an hour and half we reached the southern ocean and the seals. We smelt them before spotting them, yep the smell was bad. After our time observing the seals it was time to head back, 10 minutes later we spotted 3 humpback heading south, we watched them for awhile and one jump out of the water about 40 meters away which made this journey even better.

6am and Trish suggests we go check out the Remarkable Cave, oh boy I thought this was a holiday with time to relax 🙄.
A short 20 minute drive from our B&B found us at the top of a steep wet set of steps , around 100 steps each way. We reached the viewing platform and the tide was high, bummer no chance of walking the cave.
Back to the B&B for breakfast then onto Hobart , where we met Trishs mum who has joined us for a few days exploring Tassie.
We headed for the mountains to the west of Hobart for a couple of small treks to see some waterfalls, the first waterfall was amazing , it was surrounded by a lush rainforest so green.
Our second waterfall , the Silver Falls was a beautiful waterfall which help supply Hobarts water supply. Again this waterfall was in the lush ferns filled rainforest with a babbling stream running all the track.
Our next stop was a mammoth drive up Mt Wellington, wow what a view over hobart and it surrounds , the temperature dropped to a chilly 7 degrees, I guess wearing shorts was a silly idea 😂.
By this time the day had come to an end so we checked into our B&B for the night.
It's nice sitting relaxing watching these tiny Kangaroos feed.

A mad dash to Sydney airport , yep late again.
We made it to our flight with 5 minutes to spare.
About an hour and a half later we landed in Hobart Tasmania to a chilly 10 degrees. We grabbed our car and off we went, our 1st stop was the Pirate Bay , which is stunningly beautiful. We ventured down to the rock platform called the Tessellated Pavement, this unique rock formation looks like a stone pavement.
Our 2nd stop was the Devils Arch which was amazing to see, and the blowhole which wasn't working, darn. But still looked impressive.
The scenery as we drove to Port Arthur was beautiful. We passed a lavender farm , so we stopped for a look and took a few photos. Back in the car and on to Port Arthur , we paid our entrance fee and took the ferry ride to see the historical site from the water , once back on land we wandered around the ruins and cottages enjoying the sights and learning a little of our heritage.
Back at our beachfront B&B, we had a beautiful sunset to end and exciting day.

Sorry for the late report , we hae been in relax mode yesterday and today.
Yesterday we had a slow morning , we grabbed a little shopping and in the afternoon we had a amazing 90 minutes of reflexology at Chill followed by another beach sunset with a band.
Today we had a lazy morning at the hotel and a lovely lunch at Mozzarella by the sea. We got back to the hotel and packet our bags, said our goodbyes to other guests and staff. Got a taxi to airport, the driver was an amazing guy who gave us some amazing for our next visit.
Thanx Bali for another amazing holiday.

Today was a very relaxed day, we had a small shopping spree followedby a lazy after split between the room and the pool.
This evening we headed for Legian Beach for a few beers in bean bags and the sunset.
When the sun had said goodnight we headed to MozzarellA by the Sea for an amazing dinner.I like our table reservation 🤣

I awoke this morning to find this dog asleep on the sun lounge at our villa. She slept for hours, and when she awoke she was very nervous to be around us. I got her some food and slowly feed her , soon she was full and didn't want any more food. She let me pat her , and scratch her tummy. We really felt sorry for this dog as it looks like it starving and lacking in affection. She jump back on the sun lounge and enjoyed the view with us for a short while before taking off and running around the rice fields, enjoying life. After an hour she returned and wanted a pat and belly scratch , it was time for us to leave I really hope she enjoyed the short time and affection we gave her.
Into the van and the couple of hour drive to Legian , we checked into our hotel had a swim before heading off to Seminyak beach to have a few beers on the beach while watching the sunset. Another perfect end to another great day in Bali.

We awoke this morning to a beautiful view from our room of Mt Agung just before sunrise. We hurriedly got ready for our guide who was picking us at 730 am. In Putu's van off we sped for the 40 minute drive, along the way we stopped to snap a few photos of Mt Agung and carried on with our journey. Once we arrived I was excited and a little disappointed, there was someone already here. We started the descent down the steep steps for about 500 meters untill we reached the entry point of the canyon, slipping our shoes off we walked up the river amazed of the lush green rock wall. We turned the corner in the canyon and wow the sun streaked through the trees above sending rays of light into the canyon, at this point we felt like we were part of a Indian Jones movie. Continuing up the river in shin deep water we had to duck down as we passed under a huge boulder wedged against the canyons wall, once on the other side we stumbled bare foot over the rocks to the river. WOW .... the waterfall was amazing, I set up my camera gear as we waited for a group to finish their selfies which took 10 minutes then we had the place to ourselves to enjoy. By the time we had left the canyon the crowds had started pouring in all eager for a photo in this amazing place. The heat was rising as we started our ascent back to the van.
Our next stop was a cultural tour of the King Place and museum in Klungkung, which was pretty cool see photos and archives of past Balinese life.
In the van again and off to Goa Lawah Temple on Bali's east coast which is famous for its cave of bats, we put on our sarongs. And start our walk thought the temple, there was thousands of bat clinging to the roof of the cave. The smell of guava was over powering.
Back to the hotel and time for an afternoon swim to cool off from the days hot sun.
The last photo is an aerial shot of our hotel with the brown roofs , our room is at the front next to the pool, feel free to drop by for a beer or two 😉

Ubud looked beautiful with a nice sunrise this morning, its been nice sitting on the balcony of our homestay eating breakfast watching life fo by.
Our transport arrived around 10am to take us to our next destination. The drive was nice as we haven't seen this part of Bali before, around 1130 we arrived in Sidemen, wow what an amazing part of Bali , it so quiet and beautiful. Munduk has been a favourite of our till now We checked into our room to an amazing view over the rice fields and Mt Agung in the background, the web site said the best views and they weren't wrong.
After a beautiful Balinese lunch we ventured 20 meters down the road to start our 3 hour silver jewellery making class, it was pretty awesome turning a few sticks of silver into rings and being a hands on experience made it even better, Wayan our teacher was really great guy.
Back at our room enjoying a few cold bintangs watch the sun disappear as some clouds rolled in cooling down the heat of the day as Mt Agung slowly disappeared in the clouds and the night.

My day started at 4am, I had a private photographic tour to a.few spots in the north of Bali. These are mobile phone photos, I used my DSLR camera and have no way of getting from my memory card to my phone. My first stop was Lake Bratan for sunrise, then onto a secret waterfall only used by locals, it was great to spend about an hour taking photos and relaxing by theis amazing waterfall and its cascading stream. Just up the road a stop in a the instagram famous Bali gate. Up to the twim lakes view point to enjoy and have a beautiful Balinese meal, then down to one of the lake to snap a few photos of another temple in the water, then onto a market.
Patricia had a relaxing day at the spa getting pampered, it was nice to see her happy and well relaxed afterwards. There's no photos of that as she had to wear paper underpants 🤣

We awoke to a beautiful sunrise over Ubud, the morning sun start to warm the air quickly. After a yummy breakfast at our home stay we ventured upto Ubud markets for a wonder around, by this time the sun had really warmed the air.
That afternoon we were picked up by Komang who took us to an afternoon cooking class, masterchef Bali 🤣
The class was excellent, heaps of fun and we started off by making a hindu offering. We learnt a few new Balinses dishes and sauses. At the end of our class it was time to eat , what we had spentt hours preparing and a chance to socialize with the other 6 couples im the class. As a spectacular sunset filled the sky......

This morning we had 1 last walk around Munduk and its magnificent rice fields. Munduk is such a beautiful peaceful part of Bali , lets hope it never get developed like Bali's south.
Our ride had arrived, a young guy who was pretty funny and talkative.
A few hours later we had arrived in Ubud, the center of Bali. We had a beautiful lunch of babi guling or roast pig, this is my all time favourite Balinese dish. We wandered the streets for awhile and later in the day had dinner at a local warung or restaurant, the meal was cheap and delicious, while the sunset over Ubud. A late evening 1 hour Balinese massage was well recieved as our muscles were still aching ..... its a tough life 😅😅

Today started off with an amazing sunrise followed by a yummy Balinese pancakes and fruit for breakfast.
We had organized a driver to take us waterfall chasing again , giving the legs another work out we ventured the 20 minute walk to Git Git waterfall. Next stop was Aling Aling waterfall which was another 20 minute walk in with lots of steep steps . Back in the van and up to the Buddhist temple in Lovina in Bali's north , there was quite a few steps as well 🙄.
Our last stop for the day was Air Panas or the hot springs of Banjar, the water is heated by the volcano at a nice warm temperature which felt amazing on our tired muscles.

Today we had a local guide in Munduk take us for a trek. Our trek took us through rice fields ,cloves plantations and mixed farms and also through some amazing jungle to 3 amazing waterfalls, its the kind of place you need one leg longer than the other, or be a mountain goat. Some section are fairly easy while others a steep and the reward after a walk in the high temperatures was the cool wind and spray from these waterfalls.
It was also a great insight into Balinese farm life , especially the clove farmers scurrying up a single piece of bamboo to harvest the highly prized cloves from high in the trees.
Munduk is a gem in Bali with very little westernization except mobile phones , the local restaurants all sell Balinese dishes which are cheap, delicious and most of the produce is locally grown.

Tuesday afternoon we boarded our flight to Bali. Jetstar had us aboard and ready for take off 10 minutes early, they also knock 40 minutes of the flight time... cheering!
Immigration was a breeze, I can't say that for the baggage though, it seemed to take forever. I looked at Trish and said NO checked luggage again, she quickly agreed.
We grabbed a sim card and a airport taxi and got to our hotel in kuta.
This morning we awoke and took a wander around Kuta , had breakfast organised ourselves for our transport to Munduk.
We had arranged a driver through our hotel at a reasonable rate , he was a great guy , its just ashame my Indonesian isnt that good and his English matched. We did managed to communicate a little and with a bit of help from google translate the day turned out perfect with a touch of humor.
We made a few stops along the way , 1st stop was Jatiluwih rice terrace, a lush vibrant area. Our 2nd stop was along a thin mountain pass that could easily be on the worlds most dangerous roads, as we snaked our way through the fog past some stunning farm land and jungle we saw a sea of flowers which looked amazing.
A quick stop to see the monkeys then onto a view point to see Balis twin lakes.
Soon after we arrived in Munduk , we checked into our homestay and grabbed a beautiful Balinese meal washed down with a few beers.

All good things come to an end ..... our WA adventure is over. The day started with a 5am alarm, a 20 minute drive to the Pinnacles from the hotel. On arrival we discovered we had the place to ourselves, which was brilliant and gave us a great opportunity to explore, enjoy and photograph these amazing rock formations at sunrise.
By the time the sun had poked over the horizon a few more people had started to arrive, we had around 40-50 minute alone here and felt greatfull for the experience.
Back at the hotel we gathered our stuff and took the drive back to Perth. The wind had picked up and the sand hills started shifting fine white sand in clouds across the road. We passed a few emus and took the opportunity to make a few photo shops along the way.
We soon reached Yanchep National Park, here we explore some of the park and enjoyed sitting by the lake watching the birds in the shade of the gum trees, a welcome relief from the hot sun with temps in the mid 30's. We also took a walk through the koala section of the park. We saw a round 8 koalas, 2 of these were quite low in the tree giving us a few great photos of them. Leaving the park and heading to Perth, we got and invite for dinner at a friends place, which was lovely.

(Most photos are on my camera, we only have a few taken with my phone)

Day 5 of our WA roadtrip.... the day started with a meet up with some friends for a coffee and a chat. Fueled up the Hyundai and undertook the 2 hour drive north of Perth, it was good to leave the city behind and head out into nature again. As we headed north the landscape kept changing from tree lined roads to open plain covered with hundreds of grass trees which looked quiet amazing. Then the landscape changed to smaller coastal type bushes which covered the ground except for the odd massive white sand dunes which looked like snow capped peaks. We arrived in Cervantes and checked into our hotel and a welcome relief from the heat of the air conditioned car, which said it was 35 degrees.
After our short rest, it was back into the mighty Hyundai and off to explore Cervantes. First stop was Thirsty Point look out which was nice but the wind had hit making the ocean choppy and the white sand fly, we hurried back to the car. Our next stop was a bone jarring ride over congregated dirt road to see the Stromatolites which are various microbial communities of cyanobacteria that seem to build the Stromatolites. Back up the bone jarring road to town and Dinner was at the local Tavern, which was very tasty and filling.
Once we had finished dinner we drove 20km to the Nunbung Narional Park to see the Pinnacles, WOW these impressive limestone formation are scattered for miles each having a unique shape, sculptured by the Indian Ocean and erosion over the years. And we finished the day off with desert sunset.
