2023 was quite a year! Springtime trips to Cuatro Cienegas, Coahuila, Mexico as well as exploring trails in Maderas del Carmen south of Boquillas. Mike D took the summer off to work with old friends on California's Tuolumne River at crazy high water levels. In October, we operated 4- three day Texas Music Adventures with our favorite singer/songwriters and performers. Throughout the year, we operated dozens of expertly guided day trips in and around Big Bend National Park. Let us add a taste of soft adventure to your 2024 vacation plans!

October 2023 will make the 6th year since we resurrected our Texas River Music Series, a legacy from our pioneering days with Far Flung Adventures. We are happy to host returning River Music performers Rich Brotherton and Patrick Byrne on October 20-22, and welcome River Music first-timer Guy Forsyth October 6-8. The holidays will bring a lot of visitors to Boquillas. There is a new system to check people back in to the US. It can be somewhat time consuming but there is a way that you can check yourself in while you wait in line. Download the App: CBP ROAM. There is now wifi at the port of entry, and if you have this App on your mobile phone you can check in, scan your passport, check a few boxes yes or no, then be approved for entry. This is new to the Boquillas Port of Entry; I was the first to use it and it worked fine. The key is to already have the APP loaded, and filled out with your details before arriving at the POE.

Go Big Bend has been on the go the last half of 2022. July in Hawaii, August in California. After rowing high water on the Rio Grande in September, we operated three incredible Texas River Music trips through Santa Elena Canyon in October.

In November, we returned to Cuatro Cienegas to explore more fascinating options, and then drove further south to Parras de la Fuente and visited a winery in operation since 1597. Hard traveling, but someone has to do it.

Summer time in Big Bend, but we are still operating interpretive driving tours in the area. We like to do shorter hikes in the morning, and try yo stay air conditioned as the afternoon warms up. With our sister operation, Boquillas Adventures, we operated 3 tours in April that originated in Boquillas and visited Cuatro Cienegas, Muzquiz and Ocampo. During the next week, we are going to explore the Sierra del Carmen from Las Norias, looking for a place to camp close enough to El Pico to make a day hike to the summit, or at least close. We will also explore Puerto Rico mine, with the idea that we will soon offer this as a 2 or 3 day excursion through our sister company, Boquillas Adventures!
