Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine, Kyoto, Japan

京都で外国人観光客に最も人気な神社の一つ、「伏見稲荷大社」

お稲荷様と、その近くでたまたま羽を休めていた鴉（神の遣いの八咫烏？）

美しい紅葉をバックにしていずれも何だか神々しい感じがしました

Fushimi Inari Taisha is one of the most famous Shinto shrines in Kyoto, Japan, for foreign tourists. The Senbon-Torii ( a thousand of vermilion Torii gates) is the most popular and photogenic spot in the shrine.

Oinari-sama statue wearing a red bib of 1st photo is kind of a holy fox as the messenger of Oinari deity of Fushimi Inari Taisha sirine in Shinto realm. Yatagarasu is a mythical crow and guiding god in Shinto mythology. Both of them with the fall foliage were so stunning and made me feel kind of sacred.

京都で外国人観光客に最も人気な神社の一つ、「伏見稲荷大社」

人混みを避けようと早朝6時頃訪れましたが、
人気の千本鳥居の前にはすでに多くの観光客が群がっていて
カメラ撮影にいそしんでおられました

とはいえ、まだ少なめで
ちゃんと譲り合って撮影されていたので
人物なしの鳥居がなんとか撮れました！

Fushimi Inari Taisha is one of the most famous Shinto shrines in Kyoto, Japan, for foreign tourists. The Senbon-Torii ( a thousand of vermilion Torii gates) is the most popular and photogenic spot in the shrine.
I visited around 6 am in the early morning because I wanted to take a photo without crowds. But there were already so many foreiners crowds in front of that torii gates for their photos, to be surprised. Anyway it's so stunning for sure.

Jisso-in temple, Kyoto, Japan

京都洛北の古刹「実相院門跡（じっそういんもんぜき）」

貴重な文化財の中で
「」さんという大人のたしなみを体験するサイトが企画したマインドフルネスを体験

通常は立入禁止の書院に特別に入ることができ、
貴重な文化財と絶景を眺めながら
座禅を組んで（実相院では“行座”という）で瞑想と
門主から貴重なお話とお茶のお点前をいただいたり、
なかなか面白い体験でした

Jissoin Temple located in the northeast Kyoto(Rakuhoku) is a Monzeki temple, which means a historical temple in charge of the head priest at a Buddhist temple came from the Imperial Family, known for its superb Japanese garden and masterpieaces of the painted sliding doors by the Kano school artists in Edo era.

"Otonami" is a website for adults to produce and offer a variety of interesting plans of the Japanese cultural experiences. One of them is the experience of doing Zen meditation and doing the tea-ceremony in the Sho-in room of Jisso-in temple, where is usually not allowed to go in for visitors surrounded by the beautiful Japanese garden. It's so interesting and had a great time.

京都洛北の古刹「実相院門跡（じっそういんもんぜき）」

磨かれた床に紅葉が映る「床もみじ」が有名ですが
（撮影禁止）

中庭の山水庭園や比叡山を借景とした枯山水庭園「こころの庭」の紅葉も見事でした

ちなみに1枚目は庇を山に見立てた「富士もみじ」と呼んでいるそうです

実相院は落ち着いた洛北の奥にあるため、人混みが少なめなのでおすすめ

Especially in fall, "Yuka-momiji" reflected the fall foliage on the black floor like a mirror is very famous, but not allowed to take a photo. Anyway, any gardens are perfectly amazing.

Otagi Nenbutsuji temple, Kyoto, Japan

京都嵯峨野の「愛宕念仏寺（おたぎねんぶつじ）」

境内の一角にあった、
燃えるような紅葉をバックに火の鳥（鳳凰）が降り立っていました

This is called 'Otagi Nenbutsuji' temple, situated in the remote area of Sagano, Kyoto prefecture. The temple has more than 1200 years history but has been ruined by natural disasters and wars a couple of times. It was rebuit by a new Buddhist monk about 70 years ago, then over 1,200 Buddha statues( called 'Rakan') was created by volunteers as well as neighbourhood worshiped that Buddhism.

This is a Japanese phoenix statue putting on the top of the gate of Otagi Nenbutsuji temple, surrounded by the ablaze fall foliage with red and yellow leaves. It's so amazing.

Otagi Nenbutsuji temple, Kyoto, Japan

京都嵯峨野地方にある「愛宕念仏寺（おたぎねんぶつじ）」

1200年以上の歴史を持ちながら、
一時は戦禍や災禍によって廃寺となりましたが、昭和初期に無事再興

現在は境内を埋め尽くす表情豊かで
苔むした1200躰を超える羅漢像が人気の山寺です

見頃を迎えた燃えるような紅葉の赤と苔の緑のコントラストが本当にきれいでした

それにしても、山奥のマニアックなお寺だと思ったのですが、
意外にも外国人観光客が多かったのでびっくり

Sonyo-in temple, Kyoto, Japan

京都御所からもほど近い、本法寺境内の一角に
ひっそりたたずむ「尊陽院」

水子供養の小さな寺院ですが、最近注目されているのが
幻の蝶といわれるアサギマダラをモチーフとした極彩色の天井画

歴史ある古刹に現代アートの天井画というギャップも面白いです
ちなみに観光客がいなければ寝っ転がって天井画を撮影できます

御本尊を祀る本堂の天井画にも迫力ある龍図があり
どこから眺めてもふしぎと龍の目と合うそうです

まだまだ穴場なのか誰もおらず
ゆっくりのんびり鑑賞することができました

This is called 'Sonyo-in', where is kind of temple for memorial service for a child who died before birth, as a sub-temple of Honpo-ji Temple in Kyoto. This is getting popular nowadays about the the ceiling painting of chestnut tiger butterflies with colorfule flowers by the contemporary artist Mais. It's so beautiful!

There is another ceiling painting of Dragon in main hall. This is more than 250 years ago in Edo era. Curiously enough, you might set eyes on dragon from any angles. This temple is very small, but you must be touched by the beauty.

Yasaka Koshindo, Kyoto, Japan

清水寺から歩いても行ける「八坂庚申堂」

庚申（こうしん）とは、いわゆる「申（サル）＝お猿様」のこと
猿を神の御使いとして信仰する庚申講を祀る霊場としての御本堂です

「見ザル聞かザル言わザル」の三猿もこれが由来だそう

八坂庚申堂で最近注目されているのがこのカラフルな「くくり猿」
お手玉のようなこの玉に願い事を一つだけ書いて紐にくくると叶うそうです

開門間もなかったので観光客は全くいませんでした

こじんまりとしてとてもかわいらしいお堂でした（神社ではないそうです）

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2025!!

昨日の投稿に引き続き、清水寺の紅葉です！

清水寺は京都の中でも人混みがハンパないので
あえて避けていた寺院ですが、

訪れて見たら、
やっぱり来て良かったと思える別格の美しさでした

これは確かに人が殺到しますよね
開門すぐに訪れて正解でした

Continuing from the last posted, this is about the fall foliage of Kiyomizu-dera temple in Kyoto last December. It is super amazing!
Kiyomizu-dera is the most popular and famous temples in Kyoto, especially for foreigners. During the peak season of the fall foliage between the end of Nov and the early Dec, it was incredibly crazy crowded in the temple. But I understood they eargered to visit for watching the beauty even though crowding into there by bunch of people.

6時の開門から間もなく訪れましたが、

2024 My Instagram LIKE and Reach Ranking Top9

2024年の集大成としてアクセスランキングを作ってみました

画像1枚目は「LIKE（いいね）」ランキング TOP9
画像2枚目は「リーチ」ランキング TOP9

総評として、
「いいね」は能登半島関連とベトナム関連が多かったのに対して、
「リーチ」はジブリ系とマニアック系が多かった印象

こうも違うんだなぁとビックリしました

というわけで、
2024年はたくさん見ていただいてありがとうございました
2025年も懲りずにどうぞよろしくお願い申し上げます

These are Top 9 of my Instagram for LIKE( 1st image) and Reach(2nd image) in 2024.

I think the Top 9 of LIKE tends to be a lot of photos related Noto peninsula and Vietnam. On the other hand, Top 9 of Reach tends to be a lot of photos related Ghibli Park or something and less-known sites in Japan.

Iwami Kagura, Iwami region, Shimane, Japan

島根県石見（いわみ）地方に伝わる「石見神楽」
その代表的な演目が「大蛇（オロチ）」

スサノオノミコトが8頭の首を持つ大蛇を倒し、
大蛇に食われそうになっていた娘を救って嫁にめとる、
といった有名な日本神話

石見神楽は神楽の中でもかなりダイナミックで
ちょっと歌舞伎に近い立ち回り

今回はホテルの宴会会場への出張神楽だったので
防火上、大蛇は火を噴きませんでしたが、
通常は大蛇の口から煙火を噴く演出があるそうです

ともあれ、はじめてみる石見神楽に圧倒されました

Iwami Kagura has been passed down for generations as an unique spectacle, dynamic and traditional performing arts in Iwami region in Shimane Prefecture, Japan. “Kagura” is a dance based upon ancient Japanese myths and legends.It's one of the national treasure.
"Orochi(dragon)" is the most famous performance of Iwami Kagura, you'll see the Explosive and daring tale of the battle between the Eight-Forked Serpent and the heroic god Susano-o.
It was first time to watch Iwami Kagura in my life. It's so wonderful and exciting.

Karisaka Pass, Chichibu, Saitama, Japan

埼玉県秩父と山梨県山梨市の県境にまたがる
日本三大峠の一つに数えられる「雁坂峠」

埼玉奥秩父の紅葉の名所で、
赤と黄色の二つの陸橋が折り重なるように並んでいるのが面白いところ

1枚目は、赤い橋（雁坂大橋）から見た黄色の橋（豆焼橋）
2枚目は、逆に豆焼橋からみた雁坂大橋
3枚目は、それら二つの橋が重なってみえる国道140号から見た図

紅葉の谷も見事でしたが、
こうした橋が重なる構図も珍しいスポットでした

Karisaka Pass lies on the border between Chichibu region of Saitama prefecture and Yamanashi prefecture, then there are 2 bridges like the red one is called "Karisaka-ohashi great bridge" and another yellow is called "Mameyaki-bashi bridge".
1st photo was taken from Karisaka-bashi great bridge, on the other hand 2nd photo was taken from Mameyaki-bashi bridge. Finally I took 3rd photo of both of them from National road 140 a little away from the bridges.

I thought the composition of them as well as fall foliage are so interesting and stunning.

Sea of Clouds, Chichibu, Saitama, Japan

埼玉秩父ミューズパークより

秩父の秋の風物詩・雲海の見頃である11月上旬は
秩父公園橋が一定期間ライトアップしているので
それとオーロラ雲海のコラボをねらって訪れたのですが…

あいにく雲海はうっすら程度出現
雲海発生率50％を超えていたんだけどなぁ

今年もリベンジならず
また来年頑張ります！

A sea of rainbow-colored clouds, which means the clouds overlaping with the lights of town and the smoke rising from a factory, appeared over the Chichibu Basin in Saitama Prefecture, Japan. Cloud seas tend to appear over the Chichibu Basin from October to November on cool, clear mornings after it rains, in fall. Especially between 1st and 14th Nov like a sea of clouds season, the Chichibu park bridge would be illuminated up until 6 am before dawn.

Unfortunately a sea of clouds appeared slightly at that time, so I couldn't exactly see a see of rainbow-colored ( also called "a sea of Aurora clouds").

Hiraoka Jugei Center, Sapporo, Hokkaido

札幌郊外にある平岡樹芸センター（みどりーむ）

8種類700〜800本ものもみじが植えられ真っ赤に燃える紅葉アーケードが人気
札幌は、この時ほぼ紅葉見頃を迎えていました

降っていた雨が草木を濡らして、これはこれで風情あり

日本式庭園など、かなり丁寧に整備されているのに、ここは入場料無料なんです
雨で平日だったので、かなりのんびり鑑賞できました！

The Hiraoka Jugei Center( also called 'Midoreem') situated in Sapporo’s suburban Kiyota Ward is well-known for its flowers and beautiful fall colors. More than 700-800 trees in the momiji, or maple, family (yama momiji, nomura momiji, and shidare momiji to name a few) grow within this park, and offer visitors a vibrant autumnal landscape. The rows upon rows of nomura momiji form a beautiful crimson tunnel, offering guests a unique natural experience.

南部ベトナムの観光都市カントー

この地の目玉は、メコンデルタ最大の水上マーケット「カイラン水上マーケット」

夜明け前の5時からスタートしていました

なかなか活気があって面白かったですが、
画的には、想像してた感じじゃなくてちょっぴりがっかりしました
