What a creative group of ladies at Aurukun! They have been doing some beautiful paintings at the Women’s Painting and Weaving Workshop held over the past 12 days. The workshop has been a huge success with 43 different participants and more than 20 attending each day. Ranging in age from 16 to 71 the ladies learnt how to get started with canvas painting. They discussed collecting ochres and clay and were shown how to make black charcoal to use in paintings.
