Cakes and pastries you might not have heard of, but you need to try!

Everyone has heard of Nata, and Sintra's Travesseiros are now quite famous. Have you heard of Fofos de Belas?

These are incredibly fluffy sponge cakes which are only around 6cm across, are filled with custard, and topped with granulated sugar. If you prefer your Portuguese custard to come in cake form, instead of pastry, look no further than Fofos de Belas.

Casa dos Fofos de Belas has been making these since 1850! You can find Casa dos Fofos de Belas around half way between Lisbon and Sintra, in the small town of Belas.
