After a whirlwind visit to Palm Springs, we’re back and preparing for holidays with Mom.

Overall, we were really impressed with greater Palm Springs area, although we do have some deeper issues about the environmental impacts of vacationing in the desert. But as with any destination, it is always important to stay mindful and do your part, as well as to support businesses that are environmentally conscious.

What’s great about Palm Springs is that it offers so much – nature & outdoor activities, culture, art, a great food and wine scene, or the ability to go and do nothing at all.

And now with a nonstop from IAD it’s easier to get to than ever.

Palm Springs, about two hours from LA, is a chic desert retreat. It’s known for its hot springs, stylish hotels, offbeat art spaces, cool boutiques, golf courses, and spas.

If you’re looking for a domestic getaway that feels like a treat, Palm Springs is a great option, and now super easy to get to from the DC area.

Looking back at this year, it was a mix of challenges and triumphs. Overall, it has been an incredible journey of growth, and we have a great sense of accomplishment in our business success.

The Maldives were a bit of an afterthought when we were originally planning this trip, we wanted to do some diving, but it ended up being much more than that.

Amazing diving, stunning beaches, crystal clear water - talk about paradise! We should’ve added a few more days, because we’re not ready to go home.

Sadly, we left Sri Lanka today. We were throughly impressed and can’t wait to help our clients visit this gem.

Here are a few things to know.

- It’s safe. Unlike some of its neighbors we were never hassled or heckled.
- Offers little bit of everything - wildlife, culture, history, beaches, and more - in a very manageable setting. The country’s relatively small so you can see lots.
- The driving is not for the faint of heart. This would be our top complaint, you must trust your driver because it gets a bit hairy on the small congested roads.
- The people are so friendly. Everyone’s got a smile for you
- Sri Lanka is not India, may seem obvious, but it’s easy to compare the two, when in fact they are quite different.

Overall, we highly recommend Sri Lanka.

It’s been raining a lot since we’ve been in Sri Lanka, especially the last few days in the Central Province. We’ve made the best of it with boots, umbrellas, and rain jackets, but it has also meant some cancelled plans.

When you travel you’ve got to be flexible, patient, and sometimes just make the best of a not ideal situation.

Luckily for us, we’ve been staying at some incredible hotels where spending the day doing nothing hasn’t been a hardship.

Although we will not be actively celebrating Thanksgiving this year we can still be thankful.

Here are some things we’re especially grateful for:

- Family, friends, & fur babies
- Good health (even you ankle)
- A successful growing business
- Clients who love to travel
- The places we have traveled, and those we have yet to visit
- Living & working in a vibrant and tolerant city
- Cheese

May Thanksgiving remind us to be grateful for what we have.

As we move deeper into the Sri Lankan countryside we are learning more about ancient Buddhist culture and history. We’re also enjoying the local wildlife. Not often do you see an elephant walking down the side of the road. 🐘

We just booked a last-minute request to Vietnam for festive.

This family will be exploring Northern Vietnam by spending time in the countryside, an overnight on Halong Bay, cooking classes in Hanoi, and bike rides through ancient villages.
