Tibet 7 Day Tour

Day 1 Lhasa Arrival
Welcome to Lhasa, the roof of the world! Our tour guide will pick you up at airport or train station and es**rt you to hotel in Lhasa city. On the way, you can enjoy breathtaking views along the Bramaputra River.

Day 2 Lhasa ( B/L/D )：Potala Palace, Jokhang temple with Barkor Market, Sera Monastery with debating.
After breakfast, you will be arranged to visit the magnificent Potala Palace, a symbol of Tibetan architecture, with an elevation of 3,700m. Walk along the stairs, you can overlook the Lhasa City and discover this treasure of Tibetan Buddhism by collecting a great quantity of sculptures, murals, scripture and other precious cultural relics.
Later transfer to Jokhang Temple. Jokang Temple is without doubt the most sacred temple in Tibet. It was established in the seventh century by King Songtsen Gampo in order to house the image of Shakyanuni at the age of 12. Then join the locals to the Barkor Street. The Barkor, is the old city of Lhasa, where you can do the circumambulation around the Jokang temple.

Day 03 Lhasa-Yamdrok Lake-Gyantse-Shigatse. ( B/L/D )
After breakfast you must start for Gyantse. On the Pass of Gampala, you could have the view of Yamdrok lake. Yamdrok Lake, also called Yamdrok Yumtso, is one of the three holy lakes in Tibet. It is also the holy lake closest to Lhasa. It is an alpine lake with two long arms of water, giving it the shape of a scorpion. It is also surrounded by snow-capped mountains and exudes incomparable sacredness. At a high altitude of 4441m, Yamdrok Lake attracts thousands of visitors every year with its breathtaking beauty. In Gyantse you could visit Pelcho monastery, Kumbum stupa. Pelcho monastery enjoys a high status in Tibet Buddhism history because it houses three sects – Sakyapa, Kadampa and Gelugpa together. According to Tibetan calendar,Saka Dawa Festival will be held on April 15th to commemorate Sakyamuni, the founder of Buddhism. During the festival, about 500 Lamas chant sutras and the loyal pilgrims gather in the monastery to commemorate Sakyamuni. Kumbum stupa consists of hundreds of chapels in layers, housing about a hundred thsoud images of various icons, in total there are about 33,000 statues. After the sightseeing tour in Gyantse, drive to Shigatse, overnight in Shigatse.

Day04 :Shigatse –Sakya monastery-Shelkar twon ( B/L/D )
Start from Shigatse after breakfast and gradually climb up into the mountainous Himalayan region, going through remote valleys that appear untouched by modern life. Cross Gyatso-la Pass, situated at 17,200 feet (5,248 meters) above sea level, making it the highest point on the Friendship Highway. On the road you have time to visit Sakya monastery. Overnight in Baiba hotel in Shelkar town .

Day05: Shelkar –Rongbuk-Everest-Shigatse ( B/L/D )
In early morning，drive to the Everest Base Camp. After two hours’ drive, you will get to the Pass of Banglha from which you will view the whole five highest peaks on the world.you can see the sunrise appearing on the top of Mt Everest, and have a full view the magnificent Mt. Everest standing like a snow-capped pyramid in front of you. In Rongbuk you can visit Rongbuk monastery, which is the highest monastery in the world. After Rongbuk, the local bus will take you to the Everest Base Camp. You will only have as long as 45 minutes to one hour to take photes at Base Camp. Then you must take same bus to Rongbuk. After the sightseeing in Rongbuk, drive back to Shigatse via Shelkar by same road.

Day06: Shigatse-Tashilunpo monastery -Lhasa. ( B/L/D )
In the morning , visit Tashilunpo monastery. Tashilunpo monastery is is the largest monastery in Shigatse area, also the seat of the Panchen Lama, the second ranking person in the Gelugpa Tibetan Buddhist hierarchy, after the Dalai Lama. The monastery houses the tombs of Panchen Lamas and a 22.4-meter statue of Maitreya Buddha. After lunch in Shigatse, drive back to Lhasa.

Day07: Drive to airport for departure.
