Because our children these days are surrounded by social media internet etc. The children guests never play with their gadgets ..it's great for them to see how the children in Samoa especially Savaii play with a breadfruit as a rugby ball or cricket with a lemon..very simple life . They have lots of board games to play in the evenings at Florences Place chess is a firm favorite! Winnie the pooh and Kuki the cat often sit and pretend to play with them...🤣🤣🤣 Not everyone has an iPad a phone or toys..For the visiting children they learn some very valuable lessons , that you don't need expensive toys etc etc to enjoy life. Happy Sunday

Florences Place will be closed for a month from the 8th January till the 10th February.
Due to my wish to go play with my grandsons in NZ!😅and grandma needing a much needed rest !!
So lets hope the grandsons won't be too boisterous!!🙄🙄Cheers .

Florences Place is a unique family run Home Stay.Situated in Fa'aala Palauli. In the village setting with a bakery convenience and another store opposite for your snacks. Its stock with almost everything you need .For those of you that really want to experience life in Samoa especially in Savaii ..this is the Place. Also to help our locals economy. The children love the openess of playing with the village children in front of Florences Place well manicured lawns whilst the parents watch from the verandah with a cool beer or wine. Its living areas with many comfortable lounges , stock with games provides a real home away from home setting for everyone to enjoy. It's in the middle of the village so it's absolutely safe for young and old to explore its surroundings. We also have our very own church at the back of our property , if you so need to attend and listen to amazing singing.

The Afu Aau waterfall is 2 mins down the road for that beautiful cool dip .
Aganoa Surf Beach is in our village also. With a 10tala cover charge if you stay at Florences Place.
Blowholes are 35mins away down south coast road.
Although Florences Place is not on the Beach ( it's across the road) however beaches are only few minutes away. It has 2 bathrooms.Most of our guests really love it without sand in their beds so the outdoor bathroom comes in handy after a day at the beach or our farm tours.
Our beds have all got mosquito nets with bottom and top sheets , with proper mattresses!.
Our ingredients for our meals are 90% from our own farm , organic vegetables, fruits and eggs. Kelvin is a butcher by trade all the way from Waikato NZ ! so he slaughters our very own beef from our farm . We hang beast in our chiller for 6 to 7 days before he breaks it down for that yummy aged organic grass-fed steaks , roasts and mince ( ground beef).
It is a shared Accomodation, that sleeps 15 people comfortably. ( you have own own bed of course, unless you want to share ) I'll just pretend I don't know) 🤣
We often get 6 or 7 nationalities and the conversations are amazing, we realize the world that we live in is actually very small.
However politics is usually heated🤣🤣 so I try to steer conversations to other more important topics..like how many times the Green turtles mate!! Laughter , food , safety and shared experiences is our main ingredients to get everyone engaged . Lastly I truly believe Florences Place is the only Home Stay of its kind where the world come together for a unique experience of sharing what really matters in the world today.. given all the unsettling wars , grief , and sadness.

Had this delightful young family from NZ for 4 days. A pleasure to host them. The little ones thoroughly enjoyed our home cooked meals , village life full of children and their very first White Sunday celebrating the children . Travel safe and see you some day soon. Much hugs.. Our cat will miss your cuddles Frankie and Coco.🌺🌺🌺🌺

Packed out! What a joy it was to have Florence’s Place completely taken over by the Island Breeze team, led by none other than one of the property’s original residents, Olepa.

Olepa, her husband Rudy and their young crew from around the world (including 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren of the family) filled the place with music, dancing and joy!

Bookings will return to normal in the next couple of weeks, but until then it’s strictly family time for us ❤️

Ever thought of circumnavigating the ‘big island’ by bike? The perimeter roads around Savaii are approximately 220km and give gorgeous coastline views, a mix of terrain and passing glimpses into colourful village life. Are you up for the challenge?
