We're so excited to announce that our founder and CEO is the co-chair and co-host of the first annual gala.
Birthright Africa is a non profit committed to sending young people aged 12-17 to the continent for free in a pilgrimage rooted in service, collaboration, and self discovery.
The gala takes place virtually and in three simultaneous in-person events in Accra, NYC, and Los Angeles. Expect live performances including a very special one by who is also serving as co-chair and co-host for the evening.

For those who haven’t been, Car Rapide’s are one of the biggest symbols of Dakar. Painted in the city’s colors (yellow and blue) each owner is also an artist designing their Car Rapide with their own style and flair.
They are the heartbeat of the city shuttling people everywhere and moving with their own rhythm.

More than a photo opp, the “door of no return” - a name coined to symbolize the last exit point on the continent for enslaved Africans - is a meaningful place of remembrance for Black people everywhere.
Whether you are a direct descendant of enslaved people or a Black person walking consciously in the fullness of our interwoven histories - visiting these sites is often a moving experience.
There are several “Door of No Returns” dotting West and Central Africa’s Atlantic coasts and we rounded up six that should go on your bucket list.

Young people in Dakar are currently taking to the streets after the arrest of MP Ousmane Sonko who has been accused of r**e.
While the arrest of an opposition leader was the trigger (some feel the arrest was politically motivated) many Senegalese are using the protests to share long simmering frustrations around a lack of job opportunities, pandemic-induced economic hardship and the President.
