Is this the best birthday present ever or what! Chris Cotterill with a once in a life time monster cod measuring in at a whopping 125cm and easily hitting the 100lb mark!!! And even better it was caught casting a soft plastic!

The plan was to head out and battle the cold in search of the beast but we didn't expect goodoo of this size! It was such an incredible experience and a well deserved catch by Chris. His techniques and tactics payed off!

It was caught slow rolling a massive soft plastic in the shallows at first light. The big girl hit the lure at the start of the retrieve right in against a shallow grassy bank. And wow did it fight!

It was just pinned on the stinger hook in the corner of the jaw. It's important to always run stingers when using big soft plastics. If you are thinking of heading up and chasing big cod make sure you have a few big plastics in your tackle box. They are one of the best big cod lures on the market! And they produce the results.

Monster cod in winter don't get much better than this!
