Busy day on “polar bear alley”. The polar bears are waiting for Hudson Bay to freeze so they can cross to hunt for seals. They are on 110 days today of not eating. They won’t be bale to do so until the ice freezes. Global warming is a real consideration in their vote this election.

Churchill, Manitoba. Population 900. The polar bears outnumber the humans 2 to 1. Polar bear capital of the world. The rule here is that all homes and cars stay unlocked so that people walking can always duck in somewhere when they see a polar bear in town. The town kids trick-or-treated for Halloween last night followed by the Polar Bear Patrol. The local bar serves a cocktail called “Polar Bear Piss”. Tomorrow we fly further north to the polar bear cabins.

Nestled on the north shore of Little Corn Island is a seaside paradise known as Yemaya Reefs. It was gorgeous and the service was excellent. Byblos restaurant was my favorite, but as you may recall from our Greece trip, I'm a huge fan of Mediterranean food. The path they now have that runs the length of Miami Beach between the beaches and the hotels was awesome for running and for walking to dinner. The Italian restaurant, Cecconi's was gorgeous and the food was good too. Thank you so very much for the champagne you sent us. We didn't drink on the first night and they put it on ice for us a second time the next day. We also got a beach view room, which I don't think we were charged for. As always, thanks to you and Holly for making it so special for us! One other thing. They did a really good job with the service at the beach and at the pools.
