Location: Nestled near Ginigathena in the Nuwara Eliya district, Aberdeen Falls is a 2-hour drive from Kandy and roughly 4 hours from Colombo.

Getting There: While private transportation is convenient, the adventurous can opt for a tuk-tuk ride or even a train journey from Hatton to Ginigathena.

What to Wear: Sturdy shoes are essential for the short trek and navigating slippery rocks. Pack swimwear and a towel if you're tempted by a dip (but caution is advised due to strong currents).

Best Time to Visit: The rainy season (May-August) boasts the most powerful falls, while the dry season (December-April) offers clearer skies and easier access.

Horton Plains National Park: Hike through misty grasslands and witness breathtaking waterfalls within the park's diverse landscape.

Yala National Park is one of the top five parks in the country, getting more people than any other park, especially during the holiday season. Ala National Park was declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1900 and is renowned for the diversity of its fauna, including hundreds of bird species, Sri Lankan elephants, and Sri Lankan leopards.

The park covers 979 sq.km and is about 300 km from Colombo. Yala National Park is accessible via four public entrances, which are spread across six blocks.

Which entrance is best for Yala National Park?
The primary most popular entry point to Yala National Park is the Palatupane gate, located 15 km east of Tissamaharama. Block 1 of the park is the most visited safari region in Yala.

Which block is best in Yala National Park?
Yala Block 1, home to the highest population of leopards in the national park, is the most frequented location despite having an exceptional variety of landscape shapes.

What is the best time to visit Yala?
The best time to visit Yala is during the dry season, which runs from January to May. With the water levels lower, it is easier to observe Animals coming to the lagoons for water.

What do you wear to Yala safari?
When on safari, it is advisable to avoid wearing white, extremely light colors, or bright colors like red, orange and blue.

wear colors that blend in with the natural surroundings. Khaki, olive, tan, brown, and earthy greens are generally your best bets. Stick to the colors of nature.

Sunblock, Sunglasses & a hat to protect against the sun and glare.

In terms of infrastructure, Sri Lanka's national parks are still in the early stages of development. At the gate and inside the park, there are no restrooms or restaurants, so don't expect much.

The use of guns, knives, and other potential weapons as well as matches, lighters, drugs, ci******es, alcohol, and anything that can harm nature is strictly prohibited.

feeding animals is not recommended as the smell of food could affect their habits and actions.

The name 'Kadiyanlena Ella' came to this waterfall with the legend of the past called 'Broken Falls'. In fact, the name is apt for this waterfall. That is to say, this waterfall falls into three parts. Two sections of it break up at the top of the main road and the other at the bottom.

Dunsinane Falls is a waterfall in Nuwara Eliya District of Sri Lanka. It is situated in Pundaluoya village and between the Tea estates known as Dunsinan and Sheen. Therefore sometimes this falls is called as Dunsinane Sheen falls. The waterfall is created by the Pundalu Oya river which is a tributary of Kotmale Oya.
