During a conversation recently, I realize I hold an unpopular opinion. 🌟 Taking children to WDW before they turn 3 is one of the best and most amazing times to go. 🌟

Why?

✔ It's cheaper. Children under 3 don't need a ticket to get in. If they are eating solid food, they can eat from your plate at dining locations - including the character dining locations.

✔ You can still pack light(er) for park days with Disney's convenient kid care areas- they stock diapers, wipes, etc. so you can leave the bulk of baby items at your resort. (I can tell you the location of each in the parks too!)

✔ There are many rides/attractions (Magic Kingdom especially) where young children can ride in your lap during the experience. No need to worry about missing out on the fun!

✔ Shorter ride times / relaxing park days- If you're not planning on doing all the top thrill rides, I can easily plan a midday break for nap time or spread out what you do in the parks so you can go at pace that is more suitable for little kids.

✔ When working with non-school age children it can be easier to plan a vacation around a time with lower crowds at the parks. There is more flexibility when we don't have to plan around school breaks or a ton of extra curricular events. (It's often cheaper too, which takes me back to my first point.)

I know, I know... "BUT MEG, THEY WONT REMEMBER ANYTHING.."

Absolutely, both my kids don't remember going to WDW at 2 almost 3 years old, but I DO. My husband does. Their grandma and other family members that were there, do... We all have memories that we cherish from those early trips and the kids enjoy looking at pictures and comparing them to trips we've taken recently.

Let's be honest, your kids won't remember a lot of things you did for them at that age - first birthday parties, Halloween costumes, the books read every night, trips to zoos and aquariums, looking Christmas lights... but it doesn't stop us from doing those things with them just because they won't remember.

They won't remember but YOU will and I promise those memories will be some of the greatest ones you make as a family.
