I just spent the day at the Riu Palace Pacifico in Nuevo Vallarta. The weather was perfect and the resort is in great shape. The pool and beach were very lively and the restaurants had a great variety. There are great deals to the three Riu properties in the area. Close to the Vallarta airport. thanks for the help with a day pass.

Someone just treated themself to an early Christmas present and will be going to the brand new Riu Latino in Mexico come February!! There is still time to book non-stop flights from Milwaukee to many of the top resort destinations in the Caribbean, including Cabo, Cancun, Vallarta, Dominican and Jamaica. I know it's hard to start planning a winter trip when it's 85 degrees out, but, before you know it, the temps will start dropping (I promise). Now is the perfect time to book that winter trip. I am seeing great prices on all-inclusives through Christmas. Airfare continues to stay low through next spring. Let's get those winter trips booked. As the CDC’s entry into the US protocols evolve, resorts are doing their best to keep up. If you haven’t heard yet, the CDC is mandating that all persons flying into the US must show proof of a negative COVID test. This includes US citizens who are vacationing outside our borders. This is set to go into effect on January 26th.
In response to this many resorts are offering free testing to guests to satisfy this requirement. In the last 24 hours, AMResorts (Dreams, Secrets, Breathless) and Riu have announced free in resort testing with same day results. These resorts have also announced that should a guest test positive, they will cover all costs for that guest to stay on property for 10-14 days.
This certainly will keep evolving over the next week but this should help relieve some of the travel uncertainties you are experiencing. As always, please feel to reach out if you need any help with your travel planning.

You may have heard and we have fielded several questions about the new requirement of a negative test to enter the United States, which is going into effect in the next ten days. Does this mean a traveler spending a week in a warm, sunny, beach location must get tested before returning home to the US? Yes, it does. Before you change your mind and decide to stay home, rest assured that resorts want you to visit and are doing everything possible to make the return testing process as easy as possible. Most Caribbean resorts have already announced on-resort testing programs to satisfy the re-entry requirement. Nearly all of these rapid antigen tests are being offered to guests free of charge. More and more resorts are also offering quarantine insurance and quarantine rooms should one of those re-entry tests come back positive. For example, Temptation Resorts is allowing a positive guest to stay in an isolated section of the resort for $75/day. That still includes all meals delivered to your door. The Dominican Republic is paying for all travel insurance costs, including medical costs associated with COVID while on vacation there.

As you can see, these resorts need tourists throughout the winter months to survive and will do whatever it takes to welcome back visitors, safely.
