Our 2024 Connecting Spirits Community Tour is drawing to a close as we spend our final days in London. The pace across 5 countries, 30+ soldier commemorations, Anzac Day starting 3.45 am and ending late afternoon with separate services has been relentless. Hence my apology for not keeping up with promises of detailed blogs. Next week when I return home I'll revisit some of the extraordinary locations and experiences our group enjoyed over April starting with a special focus on Turkey and its fabulous site of Ephesus. Our two days on the Gallipoli peninsula have been fabulous on many levels. Our group of travellers ranging from 19 -75 years of age, share a common purpose...to retrace the footsteps of our ancestors and to try to gain a better understanding of the years known as 'The Great War '.
In a few days time I'll post a longer blog recounting some our special moments in this extraordinary place. It's off to Izmir and Ephesus tomorrow to immerse in ancient history of the Greco-Roman period.

With just under 7 weeks to departure time, the final preparations are just about complete for the 2024 Connecting Spirits Community Tour. We fly out for Istanbul initially, to begin the tour with 8 days in this extraordinary country including Istanbul, Gallipoli and the Greco-Roman sites of the ancient lands on the Mediterranean. From there it's off to the UK, France and Belgium and back to London for Anzac Day. Regular posts on this page and my blog, will allow us to share the journey with you.

With only 4 months until the 2024 Connecting Spirits Community Tour group depart for Europe, final itinerary plans are taking shape. Our medium sized group of 14 are looking forward to 23 days in Turkiye, UK, France , Belgium and concluding in London for Anzac Day.
It's not all cemeteries and wartime stories however, as cultural highlights are also a significant part of the itinerary. On our free day at leisure in Amiens, the opportunity to stroll around the water gardens and the waterside eateries along the Somme River provide a relaxing experience.

My recent small group visit to London, YPRES, Florence and rural Tuscany was delightful as I joined family and friends in these special locations. The 2024 Connecting Spirits Community Tour group will also enjoy several days in London and an extended time in Ypres, Belgium.
There may be possibilities for small groups to join me in a specialised Tuscan experience in the future...only groups of 4-5 maximum, suitable for a family or close friends. Contact me in the new year if you are interested.

We say goodbye today as our 2019 CS group go their separate ways. Several of us are staying on for private travel in the UK so I want to pay a small tribute to these beautiful people who have become good friends. I know that this is not the end but yet another precious beginning . Farewell Sophia Beevor, Frankie Atkinson, Ashleigh Martin, Frank and Sandy Lampard, Anyupa Giles, Felicia Hartman, Paul Dennington and our fabulous leader Mal Jurgs. Hubby Paul and good buddy Jo and I will continue on together in the UK. Will miss you all. X###### And to one very important person...my beloved husband Paul ( aka 'Polly') ...none of this would have ever been possible over the last 20 years without your support and unconditional love. You're the best Mr Reece!!! ###

Covent Garden has all sorts of street performers to entertain the public. It's a must see when you visit London.

Well done Frank...as a senior veteran and OAM it was fabulous that you had the honour of reading The Ode. (You even got the words in the right order!!!!) ###

Yummy treats at 'Mimi's'...

Morning tea at the quaint and elegant 'Mimi's in Ypres is a MUST when you are here...and ..the 'PLATE' is compulsory..loaded with freshly baked treats just brimming with all that is naughty and nice!

In the lead up to November 11, I have been trawling over some of my most memorable moments from the Remembrance 2001/04 and Connecting Spirits 2006-17 projects, on and across continents and countries....Turkey...France...Belgium...UK and home. So many wonderful people who care for others and care for their shared history. They have not forgotten...
