The Joint Veterans Organization in cooperation with the City of Long Beach will host the annual Veterans Day Commemoration Ceremony at City Hall on the 6th floor (indoors). This year's service will take place on Monday, November 11th at 10:30am.
The Veterans Day Ceremony is the community's way to publicly thank the many veterans who have bravely served our country. All are welcome to attend.

The 19th Annual City Council Turkey Trot will be held on Sunday, November 17, 2024. Day of Race Registration and t-shirts pick up will be held from 7:00am-8:00am at Long Beach Catholic Regional School Gymnasium, 735 West Broadway, Long Beach, NY. One Mile Children's Race begins at 8:30 am and the 10K (6.2 Miles) Race begins at 9:00am. Arts in the Plaza and the Farmers’ Market are open tomorrow, Saturday, October 19th from 9am - 2pm!
Arts in the Plaza, Long Beach's weekly arts and music festival takes place Saturdays through October. The Market takes place every Wednesday and Saturday and features certified organic vegetables, herbs, greens, fresh fruit, breads, and much more.

The Ancient Order of Hibernians Division 17 will hold their 35th Annual Irish Heritage Parade and Festival this Saturday October 5. 2024. The parade steps off from Washington Boulevard and West Park Avenue at 11:00am proceeding to West Beech Street in the West End.

This year, the AOH is happy to honor the Michael Diamond Charitable Foundation as the Grand Marshal, recognizing their significant contributions to our community. The parade will feature pipe bands, marching bands, and various Veteran, Religious, and Civic organizations. In addition to the parade, the festival will include street vendors, food trucks, rides, games, and a rich lineup of Irish entertainment including Irish Step Dancers, promising a day of fun for all ages.

In collaboration with the Ancient Order of Hibernians, local restaurant and bar owners, and the Long Beach Police Department, we are committed to creating a festive, yet safe environment for everyone attending.

As the event approaches, we want to ensure you are informed about important details that may affect your day. Please be mindful of road closures and parking restrictions in the event area, and consider using public transportation if possible. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

• The event will take place rain or shine.
• There will be NO parking on West Beech Street, between New York Avenue
and Connecticut Avenue from 6:00am and until 7:00pm on Saturday.
• Cars not removed will be towed at the owner’s expense.
• West Beech Street will close to traffic at 7:00am.
• The parade steps off at 11:00am from Washington Boulevard and West Park
Avenue.
• The festival will end at 5:00pm. Beech Street will be cleared and open by
7:00pm.
• There will be FREE parking for event goers at the LIRR Parking Garage.
• The West End Bus will shuttle on West Park Avenue on a continuous loop
between the LIRR Parking Garage and the festival.
• All Eastbound City Buses will be FREE to passengers on Saturday only.
• The planters on Oceanview will be moved for the day so that local traffic and
emergency vehicles may flow through.
• The Virginia Avenue parking lots will be closed Friday night through Saturday
night.
• The Maryland Avenue and Connecticut Avenue parking lots will be closed
Saturday.
• The safety of our residents, visitors, and City staff is our number one priority,
please report any problems to the Police Department, by calling 516- 431-
1800.

As we all take part in this celebration of Irish heritage, we ask all residents and visitors to abide by the rules and act in a safe manner so everyone can enjoy the festivities. We look forward to seeing you at this exciting celebration of Irish culture and community spirit!

The City of Long Beach Department of Parks and Recreation will hold its annual Halloween Costume Parade in conjunction with the Fall Festival on SUNDAY, October 13th.
This popular long-standing tradition will begin at 12:00 pm from Veteran's Park located at the Recreation Center Campus on Magnolia Blvd and the bay. The Costume Parade is sponsored by the Long Beach CSEA, the Commanding Officers Association and the Long Beach Professional Firefighters.
Children in grades 5 and under are invited to participate by wearing their favorite costumes. All children in costume at the Halloween Parade will receive a trick-or-treat bag filled with goodies including passes for a free public skating session at the Long Beach Ice Arena.
Line up/registration takes place at the Rec Center beginning at 11:00am. Participants will march from Veteran’s Park to Kennedy Plaza and join in the Fall Festival. Prizes for the best costume will be awarded on the bandwagon at the end of the parade. Who will win the trophy for best costume? Come join us!
What will the best costume be? Who will take home the trophies? We can't wait to see all the fabulous costumes!
P.O.P tickets to attractions at the Fall Festival will also be on sale at the line-up area of the costume parade.
