Ahhhh the glamorous worlds of guiding and high fashion came together for me today… Literally standing around in the Burstall Pass parking lot in -25!! 😜 I guess anything is better than a desk job! Thanks OnTop Mountain Guides and Well Good for the opportunity to “guide” for the & photo shoot in Kananaskis. 🤣 🇨🇦 ❄️ ❄️

Today we (including our usual partner in crime Gil) attempted Commonwealth Ridge in the Smith Dorrien. Due to an unsupportive snowpack and convoluted trail we were forced to turn around after 3 hours of wallowing. Nonetheless, it was still a beautiful day to be out in the Canadian Rockies! 🇨🇦 ❄️ ❄️

The 2nd (and final) instalment/installment of Peter & Deb’s Vancouver Beer and Band tour (band post to come). Today we finished the 2nd half of the Mount Pleasant self-guided craft beer tour with stops at R&B Brewing, Electric Bicycle Brewing Company and Faculty Brewing with a Happy Hour stop for oysters Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar (highly recommend by the by).

Part 2 - So this concludes the Art portion of “Peter & Deb’s Kunst- und Biertour durch München“ (Peter & Deb’s Art and Beer tour of Munich). Today we went to Pinakothek der Moderne and Museum Brandhorst (Munich’s Museum of Modern Art and Design) and the Andy Warhol and Keith Haring “Party of Life” exhibit. What a great way to spend the day!

So this post concludes the Munich traditional beer tour portion of “Peter & Deb’s Kunst - und Biertour durch München“ (Peter & Deb’s Art and Beer tour of Munich). Kunst (Art) portion to come… Over the past 2 days we’ve been to the rest of the “traditional” beer houses in Munich, as well as one place that serves German craft beer. We’ve been to Altes Hackerbräuhaus München, , Augustiner Bräu (no photos but we were there), and Löwenbräukeller. As well as .eu (for non traditional German craft beer).

A couple days of modern art since its pouring rain… Yesterday we went to to the Damien Hurst exhibit and today we went to the exhibit (recreations of some of his work). The Banksy exhibit was AMAZING!!

Ok, kind of touristy today, but not really… We are currently in Munich and will miss Oktoberfest by a few days (not that big of a deal to us), so we are trying to get to as many of the “Traditional“ Munich breweries as we can. Today we went to the Hofbräuhaus München - Das Original and Spaten München. We will try for as many of the others tomorrow.

Holy s**t!!

We were right close to here a few days ago. And turned around on our last day (yesterday) in the snow!!

Sad news. They are saying a female Canadian “Alpinist” died of exposure yesterday Thu on the AV2 between Schlueter Hut and Puez. They alerted the local resuce at 20.45 and the hut keeper from the Puez with a mountain guide found them about 2 km from the hut but at that point she was already non-responsive. They tried several times swith a helicopter from Bozen und could not get in until this morning.

Day 5. Finito! What a crazy day but such an incredible trek and experience!! We made the decision this morning to “go for it” and regretted it as soon as the snow started to fall (not captured in the photos). Today SUCKED!! Glad there is a wellness spa in our hotel 🥳

Day 4 complete! Another mixed day. As you can see the day started out fairly clear in the alpine and finished socked in. (I guess we take the good with the bad 😋). Not sure what tomorrow will bring the forecast is for snow 😳 - so not sure what we will do 🤷🏼. Rufugio Capanna Passo Valles for the night. OnTop Mountain Guides
