I decided to go on a 6 day solo bikepacking trip on Thanksgiving Day.

Rode to Lake Skinner in Murrietta to be offered a Thanksgiving meal by camp neighbors.

The next day rode over to Escondido only to find that the campground I wanted to stay had no open spots so I splurged on a motel. Loiterers were talking all night long but I had my earplugs in so it didn’t bother me.

Day 3 I rode near to the 🇲🇽 🇺🇸 border. Windy night blew everything off my bench.

Then I turned around and had stops at San Elijo and Crystal Cove. Got to see the Top Gun house for the first time and then rode I-5 since the Marines didn’t let me through.

Last day got to ride through Chino Hills State Park. I’m thoroughly sore, tired, and happy that I got to do this trip. Don’t know when I can do this again but hopefully soon.

It doesn’t look like it but this hill was a doozie. The anguish and pain was real. Overall a great route today. Enjoyed the up and downs along with really great riding weather.

It’s been over a year since I’ve traveled by bike and this was a good trip lead by . Kudos to the fantastic route and a quick getaway into Simi Valley and exploring what the Valley has to offer. This was much deserved.

I needed this excursion even if it’s only to pick up towels from 2 Bed Bath & Beyonds. Why burn fossil fuel when you can burn calories. It’s undeniable that I’m happiest before, during and after I ride my bike.

I thought it was a good idea to ride a midnight century on my touring bike this past weekend. We started at 10pm and I got back to my car at 5:30am. Didn’t make it even though I really put in work this year on the road bike. The extra weight and me not riding for 2 weeks did me in. There’s always next year! The rest of the group got to see the sunrise on their bike. I collapsed in bed when I got home and slept until Sunday.

What are the odds of my bike being damaged before the Santa Barbara Century ride. Well, it happened. 😢Bummed out about not getting to ride and my bike being damaged but still managed to enjoy a weekend away. I’m going to bring it in to a shop to assess how much it would take to repair the carbon fiber damage. Out of a nice light bike to ride in the mean-time. C’est la vie. S**t happens.

Got to be one of the first group of people to ride the new 🚞 . So happy to see this train line serve the community and excited to be able to explore the 7 stops without a car. Leimert Park pulled out all the stops with free food offered and African performers.

Happy with this ride. 🙂Cramping 3 miles from the top but kept on riding because I was out of water. Decided to ride home after I got off the mountain.🤦🏻‍♂️Cramped again around 3 miles before I got home.

I had planned this trip about 3 months ago since I got to enjoy Patagonia, AZ in the early spring. Was looking forward to the riding, the views, and hanging out with these awesome folks. Unfortunately, I had to sit this one out but it certainly looks epic from these photos. The monsoon turning the landscape from a dry beige when I was there to a lush green. I’m still happy to see folks enjoying themselves even if I didn’t get to.

Poor . We wanted to ride a pretty epic route with hills but on our way to Griffith Park, a car pulled into our lane from a blind drive way in Glendale. I slammed on my brakes and Adrian couldn’t stop in time and crashed out.

Day 3 of Sing Peak pilgrimage. We visited Cooks Meadow and tried to find the original place where the old Yosemite sentinel hotel once stood. Apparently there was a Chinese occupied laundry there. We then went down to Wawona to see the new Chinese Laundry exhibit. The seal is what Yosemite is written out in Chinese. So grateful to learn how much Chinese Americans helped build the infrastructure and help get the Yosemite recognized as a National Park.

So glad to make it out to the 10th Annual Yosemite-Sing Peak Pilgrimage. Learning so much of Chinese American contributions within this area of California in a beautiful backdrop of . Meeting so many people in the local LA and across the state who are on this amazing pilgrimage together.

It was a good night of reacquaintance! I met .not.mario and .zodrow last year in Utah’s Grand Staircase Eacalante as they bike down to Baja Mexico. They live here in Pasadena now so they joined ’s first Summer Night bike ride tonight around Pasadena. So much fun even though I spent my time hustling back and forth to keep the group together.

Some pretty epic riding today as and I decided to ride to Mt Baldy Village from GMR to GRR and then flying down the mountain to civilization. Tried my best to not max out my heart rate but was nearly impossible with the heat.

Wrapped up a week of riding into Zion, Bryce Canyon, and Cedar Breaks. Such beautiful country. Starting the second tour tomorrow with an new group! So blessed to be able to do this for now. 🙏
