It’s also just a three-hour direct flight from our HQ in Cornwall, and an easy hop from plenty of European airports. Wondering what to do when the surf is flat this summer? Try wake surfing

Their specialist Axis boat is more than a sleek vessel to cruise along the Camel Estuary and see pretty Padstow and its surrounds from the water. The powerful engine creates a wave that can be adjusted to different heights, and once you've been towed to your feet on a surfboard, you can drop the rope and free surf along the face of it. Once you've nailed getting up it's the perfect fix if you're hunting for waves on a flat spell.

It's £44 per person, and groups of eight can charter the boat for 2.5hours for £385. Do it!

“Days are spent exploring jungle-backed shorelines, surfing and sea-glass hunting. Then seeking out the best spot to fill up on rotis – local pastries filled with the likes of saltfish, meats or sweet, tropical fruits. When the setting sun drives us, finally, out of the ocean, we quench our thirst in the occasional beach bar and buy fat fillets of the freshest catch from local fishermen, washed down with a Caribbean rum punch…”⁠

Got lucky in this incredible winter surfing destination. Pumping waves, plenty of culture, island life and surfing legends. Not one for beginners but there are some beach breaks where you can avoid the urchin-covered reefs 🌊🇸🇳

Fun family day out

With surfing for all our levels, skating, and great food and coffee to fuel up between sessions, we were there from dawn ’til dusk. It really is a cracking family day out to hone your surf skills and have buckets of fun for sliders of all ages.

Calling all Surf Mums! Our Surf Mums Club is starting up again in Mawgan Porth from next Saturday 7 May at 5:30pm.

Whether you’ve never surfed before, are ready to get back in the water after having kids, want to improve your surfing skills, or just hit the waves with other women, join our Surf Mums Club and coaching sessions at Mawgan Porth.

Our weekly Surf Mums Club includes:

Surf coaching for all abilities – whether you’re a complete beginner, progressing onto green waves or working on your manoeuvres.
Ocean fitness, beach workouts and water confidence skills.
Surfboards and wetsuits provided if required.
Surf tuition from qualified instructors at Kingsurf – an official Surfing England approved surf school.
