Chackma baboon, Ipombwe or Tshwene. Common Inhabitants of the Chobe area, side by side with humans and all that there is amongst people!
They subsist on a variety of picking, ranging from fruits, seeds, grass, rodents, birds, eggs and fungi.

Habituated in a highly organized defense system, the only predator that seriously affect them being the Leopard, which try pick them off at night while roosting in trees or cliffs.
Campers in the Chobe, shoppers in and around Spar mall kasane should treat these animals with respect, long exposure to humans has taught them pick pocketing and not to be afraid.

Namasiku (African Jacana).

A prominent sight along the Chobe River beds. Polyandrous in nature, that is a female will mate lay eggs and leave them under the care of the male who will in turn incubate, hatch them and do all the parental role/chores while the female moves on to the next suitor, repeating the same process.
