This extraordinary estate sits on 20 acres at just over 7,500’ elevation, and is rich in Colorado history. The property used to be a stagecoach stop for those en route to higher elevations and the historic barn is over 100 years old. This house is everything you would want in a Colorado mountain rental yet close to all amenities. (Seriously, you won’t believe the convenience of the location!)

• Five large master suite bedrooms; all have at least a king or queen bed.
• Four of the ensuite bathrooms feature double vanities and beautiful, walk-in showers (the fifth ensuite bath on the lower level has a single vanity).
• 7 total bathrooms.
• 9,200 sf with newly renovated spaces.
• Cascading indoor waterfall greets you as you enter the house.
• Chef’s Kitchen including coffee station, two ovens, two refrigerator/freezers, granite island, prep area and spacious pantry.
• Open sitting area and Dining Room with double sliders to the outdoor patio. Sit five at the bar areas, five at the kitchen table, or your entire group at the formal dining table. Additional seating available outside on the patio area and in the Pavilion.
• One of the upstairs master suites has a beautiful gas fireplace.
• Two large outdoor patio and deck areas off main and upper floors.
• Two oversized double door garage bays for parking four cars.
• Forced air heat throughout the house.
• Three central A/C units with multiple cooling zones on the main and 2nd floor (it sometimes gets hot in the mountains; most homes do not offer this).
• Gas fireplace with seating area near the entrance has become a favorite gathering area with our guests.
• Sonos speakers located throughout the home.
• 20-acre+ space all around. This home has 2 Upper Level king Master Suites, 2 Main Floor king Master Suites, and a Lower Level queen bedroom--all with en suite baths! The bedrooms are named for easy room assignments, and we have additional bed options available if more sleeping spaces are needed (i.e. Main Level:
• Crested Butte Bedroom (Master suite) – King bed, private bath with double vanity.
• Winter Park Bedroom (Master suite) – King bed, private bath with double vanity. Upper Level:
• Vail Bedroom (Master suite) – King bed with private bath, access to private deck.
• Beaver Creek Bedroom (Master suite) – King bed with private bath, access to private deck. Lower Level:
• Estes Park Bedroom – Queen bed, private bath. Seasonal outdoor activities include: co****le, badminton, volleyball, and horseshoes. Indoor activities include: shuffleboard, pool, foosball, ping pong and a sauna. There is an outdoor hot tub right outside the sauna area. LOTS to do and tons of space for activities. The Craigs of Craig Chevrolet lived at the Ranch and bred show horses there in the 1960s. I suspect this sign is 60+ years old. We just brought the pole light back to life, looked like it had been out of commission for 2-3 decades. Welcome to Cold Springs Ranch!

In December we said goodbye to Above the Clouds as a vacation rental. It was sold to a family that is now using it as their primary residence. This was a picture taken by one of our team members on the last morning as the sun peeked through the snowy trees.

I like to remind the owners that they redeemed this house and created an incredible property where we were able to host nearly 300 guest groups over the last seven years. When they purchased the house in 2014, it had been vacant for years and had fallen into disrepair. They came in and fixed it all and put their design touch in every room. Phil and Peggy, you created a beautiful space for people to create memories together.

My team loved taking care of ATC. And we’re excited to introduce another extraordinary Jefferson County short-term rental property to you (here) soon!

This picture was taken at sunset six years ago. I was working at Above the Clouds and my mom was with me, we sat on the deck and chatted as we watched the sun go down. My mom passed away last year and I cherish moments like these that we shared together. My favorite thing about ATC is hearing stories of time spent with loved ones at the house. These are the memories that last a lifetime!
