Whilst the kids camp has been taking place, it has been inspiring to see families taking advantage of the cool rainy season weather - it is just THE BEST time to go paddle boarding here on the River Kwai Yai, close to Kanchanaburi. Whether it is time with family, friends or partners, it is ALWAYS quality time when you are on the river; you can learn new skills, find out about river hydrology and the nature around you, all in a beautiful and clean environment. What we love about this group of kids, with us for 4 days now, was the bonding, the mutual support, the positivity, the acceptance that everyone thinks differently, the focus on learning and community spirit. A little bit of rain did not bother us - this is outdoor education and things are different, things can get uncomfortable and once we accept this and consider the positive benefits of this opportunity, we begin to see who and what is around us and consider others above ourselves. Thank you team - we will say farewell soon; we hope you will always remember this time with a smile and take those skills (leadership, teamwork, thinking along with the physical skills) with you to use in the future.

Awesome start of the week; everyone always asks if the rain is a problem; in fact it is the opposite, the rainy season is THE BEST time to paddleboard as not too hot and you will get wet in the super-clean river anyway, and much less chance of sunburn.

Day 4 and Day 5 of the camp. Time to say goodbye; the past 2 days we have been super-impressed with the students who gave back to the community by passing on knowledge or skills learned on the camp. Teams enjoyed a nature hike of 7km, sometimes it felt very hot and teams chose to complete a technical paddle in their small teams, which showed us the great bonding which had taken place over the 5 days. See you next year everyone!! Our next camp is 28th July - 1st August, so be sure to book your place; it is still not too late. Message us for further information. #กาญจนบุรี

Day 2 and Day 3 of the kids camp just complete. We were impressed with their determination to succeed. We never make it easy, but they can do it; activities are also differentiated according to ability, both by task and by outcome, dependent on the activity. This is how we can have all of the advantages of bringing kids of age 8 - 13 together. After Day 3, they really started bonding with their team-mates. THERE ARE STILL PLACES LEFT ON OUR FIVE DAY CAMP STARTING 28th July.

Day 1 of our Kid's Camps are about breaking the ice and getting to know each other, through learning new skills, introducing themselves, playing games and looking after each other. This camp, we introduced a camp economy system, which the students loved. They will be further updates tomorrow. There are still places on our camp starting 28th July. Our camps are led by an experienced British teacher (with UK QTS and 20+ years of experience) and a doctor.

Our kids' camps in JULY and early AUGUST are fun, appropriately challenging, and educational, developed by Troy Wells, a leader in the field of outdoor education and presenter at the recent 2024 OFFSEAS annual outdoor education conference. Our team of experienced instructors are there to support your child through the challenges that will be presented. It won't be easy, we will get them to push themselves beyond their expectations, with some gentle support and guidance along the way; we believe the kids that attend experience positive change and that is why many kids want to return. A CHALLENGING ADVENTUROUS JOURNEY FOR YOUNG PEOPLE. Do you want to encourage your teens to take on something more challenging than the usual city stuff, over 4 days and 3 nights, build up their determination and prepare for the challenges that life will throw at them? Help them to adapt to any environment? If so read on. We have developed this multi-mode Adventurous Journey for young people aged 12-16 years; it has been developed by our education specialist, Troy Wells, a Supervisor and Assessor for the Duke of Edinburgh International Award Adventurous Journeys. It is one night in bunks and two nights of camping; it won't be easy, but we are always there to support. It is happening 8th - 11th August, 2024 and is for those older students who already attended one of our camps or teens who want a challenge. There will be hiking, stand up paddle boarding and cycling, all in fantastic, beautiful, rural Kanchanaburi, only 2.5 hours from Bangkok. It has been so much fun with amazing learning taking place in a wonderful climate during the first week of June - the rainy season is absolutely the best time to come, as it is cloudy and cool - we were super impressed with Elias, Inigo and Verity who prepared a wonderful lunch on the riverside for their group. Lucy and Ross, their parents recognize the importance of getting out of doors and letting the children experiment, succeed and sometimes make mistakes for great learning where everybody feels proud of what they've achieved. There are a plethora of opportunities like this on our kid's camps, starting 14th and 28th July. We still have some spaces, so get in touch ASAP if you want to secure a place. 5 days and 4 nights ALL inclusive, all designed and overseen by a UK qualified teacher and a Medical Doctor.

They pushed themselves and rose to the challenges we set them; we hope they grew emotionally, physically and in maturity; we look forward to many of them returning for the challenges that learning in the outdoors presents. There will be a lot of fun and laughter along the way, but there may also be hard work, frustration, negotiations with others and being guided into leadership positions.
