Travel Perks
Do you travel frequently? We do, and we LOVE having a credit card that offers Priority Pass. Our flight was delayed over an hour, and we had a benefit to this game lounge included for free! We each got a snack, drink and played games for over an hour.
Not an ad, and I’m not affiliated with any specific card. There are several out there with different perks, so make sure you read all the fine print!

One of my favorite things Royal Caribbean International does in their ships! I was lucky enough to catch this piano player while my son was sleeping.
All I want for Christmas is a cruise.
But for real, you can wake up on a cruise Christmas morning and feel like a kid again, but without having actual kids around you! Virgin Voyages still has Christmas and New Year's cruises with openings. Spoiler alert, they are actually very reasonably priced compared to the other big brands!

We took part in some staycation type activities this week. The Nashville Zoo is always a hit and my kids normally love the interactive Lorikeet Landing exhibit.
A lorikeet named Unicorn landed on my daughter, and well…you’ll just have to watch the video to see how it unfolds 🤣
*all the birds and children are fine*
Tennessee is a beautiful state. I live just south of Nashville and we are a huge tourist destination. It’s evenings like this with the storms rolling in, fireflies out, and a full moon rising, that make me appreciate being home. I do love traveling but I also love living here.
One of the best cruise ship events, the belly flop competition 🤣
If this looks like your kind of activity you’d like to do or watch on vacation, let’s plan you a cruise.

Cruising duck prep!
Our cruise prep has begun! Do you hide ducks on your cruises? My kids are so excited to hide them, and then hide themselves to watch their ducks be found!
This is just a little bit of fun that is had on a cruise ship that isn’t facilitated by the cruise line itself!

In November 2022 we took a trip to FL and sailed on Liberty of the Seas with Royal Caribbean (RCL).
It was our first family cruise and we found a great ship and itinerary to test our seas legs. Here is what we did:
BNA➡️FLL, flew on Spirit. Our round trip flight cost was $41 per person (ask me about this hack). Finnegan is still 1 so our RT with the bag fee was $230 for 3 plane tickets.
Liberty of the Seas 4 night cruise. Total cost after taxes, fees and gratuities for 4 people: $940
We used Uber and Lift to go from the hotels and airport, so we pack our own car seats. You resemble a pack mule in the airport but it’s worth it for us.
Day 1: Embarkment, Fort Lauderdale
Day 2: Cocoa Cay, RCL private island
Day 3: Day at Sea
Day 4: Nassua
Day 5: Disembark, Fort Lauderdale
Liberty is one of the medium sized ships for Royal and she had so much for us to do. Water park for the kids, private adults only pools, decent sized casino, and Broadway caliper shows.
Our kids enjoyed Ocean Adventure and Royal Babies. Ocean adventure is included in the fare cost for kids aged 3 and up+potty training. Royal babies is an hourly service. $6 during the day, and after 7 pm it’s $8 an hour.
There was so much to do on the boat we actually didn’t even get to do half. We are excited to cruise on this ship again or one of her sister ships. It was a perfect family get-a-way and my new favorite way to travel with kids!
