Nice Cathedral: While the exterior of the cathedral may be modest, apart from its gorgeous decorative domes, the interior will take your breath away.
The cathedral is decked up in the baroque style common in Italian and Spanish cathedrals, with 10 stunning chapels. As you step into the cool interior and your eyes adjust to the darkness, take a moment to admire the sculptures, stained glass paintings and frescoes, and the gilt work.
If there was one promenade to rule them all, it would be this. Promenade des Anglais is a grand walkway along the Mediterranean with views you’ll cherish for a lifetime. Since the embankment was built in the 1820s, this promenade has been an important part of Nice’s culture. On a regular day you can go for a long walk and let your mind drift when you sit down for a breather. And in February, you’re in for a treat when the town, and especially, the promenade comes alive during the Festival.

If you thought Colline du Chateau, or Castle Hill, was going to be an in-and-out villa tour, think again. Although the original building is in ruins, there is a whole lot to look forward to here. Archeological digs around the area have revealed Roman remains, but that’s not all. Once you climb all the way to the top, you’ll get a breath-taking view of Nice, the hills, the coastline – the whole nine. On a clear day, you may also see the French Alps peeking between the clouds.

At 454 meters, Vestrahorn Mountain stands proud as one of the most prominent peaks of Iceland. And, the surroundings are equally magical. A clear lagoon rests at the foothill and spills onto a majestic rolling beach of black sand. If you’re lucky, you can also spot wild Icelandic ponies and seals!

If you’re visiting Milan for the first time, the main square of Milan, the Piazza del Duomo should be your starting point. In Medieval Italy, this piazza was the hub of commercial activities and remains a bustling and charming place even today, with numerous restaurants and historical structures like King Victor Emmanuel’s statue in the middle and the Royal Palace at one end.
The piazza is also home to Milan’s most impressive cathedral – the Duomo, an Italian Gothic style structure that took 600 years to be completed!

Anyone who’s read The Diary of Anne Frank should visit this biographical museum. The museum is a 20-minute walk from Amsterdam Central Station and is a moving experience. The story of the teenage wartime diarist unfolds as you walk through the house (artifacts include documents, photo, and belongings of the residents, including the Anne Frank’s original diary) and climb up the steep stairs to the Secret Annex.
Expect to spend at least an hour in the museum. And, tickets for the tour sell out pretty fast – in fact, 80% of the tickets are sold out 2 months in advance and 20% are released on the day.

The Stadel art gallery is known the world over for its large collection of paintings from the Middle Ages to the modern masters. The gallery houses prominent pieces by Rembrandt, Picasso, Renoir, and Cezanne as well as contemporary artists.
Works by Francis Bacon and Gerhard Richter have also found their place in a splendid subterranean display.

The Brabo Fountain - Designed by the Belgian sculptor Jef Lambeaux in 1887, this statue is a tribute to the mythical Roman soldier Silvius Brabo. The legend is that there was a giant named Druon Antigoon who built a fortress along the Scheldt River. The giant forced passing boats to pay a toll, as well as anyone crossing the nearby bridge. If the travelers refused, Antigoon cut off one of their hands and tossed it into the river.
This ended when Silvius Brabo sailed down the river. He refused to pay the giant's toll and challenged him to a duel. Brabo was victorious and chopped off the giant's head as well as his hand, which he threw into the river just like the giant once did.

The Louvre museum houses a vast variety of art and artifacts from some of the most prominent civilizations, including Mesopotamian, Roman, Greek, Islamic, and Egyptian art.
Most tourists drop by to elbow through the crowd and admire the Monalisa, but here are some other artworks you shouldn’t miss:

Our advice? Schedule your visit on a Wednesday or Friday when the museum is open till 9:30 PM. Take your time and soak it all in.
