The African Wild Dog , a beautiful and rare animal to encounter in the African bush , and when one does , one will be left in awe and amazement. They function in packs, and are the most successful hunters on the plains, with an 80% kill rate on hunts. They function as a perfect unit , flanking their pray and running it down over vast distances. Unfortunately they have also been hunted due to their territory being encroached, and survive these days only in protected reserves across Southern Africa. Interesting fact ; each African wild dogs coat's marking is unique, comparable to a human fingerprint, this is how conservationists keep record and ensure diversification when re-introducing to the wild.

For years wild dogs have had a reputation as cruel and vicious killers, but these special creatures have more to them than meets the eye.

The cambodian tiger has now been officially declared 'functionally' extinct. This is news we share with profound sadness, but it is important we are all aware and double our efforts to save endangered species. Just recently the sumatran rhino went extinct, a west african black rhino subspecies went extinct. The list goes on...Encroachment of habitat and hunting/poaching are the reasons. I will leave you with a quote from the Cree North American Indian Nation: 'When all the trees have been cut down, when all the animals have been hunted, when all the waters are polluted, when all the air is unsafe to breathe, only then will you discover you cannot eat money.'

Conservationists say they will launch a bold action plan to reintroduce the big cats to the kingdom’s forests.
