If the bakery is over 1️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ years old, can you imagine how the recipes 📖 have been perfected through the generations? 👨🏻‍🍳 Grandparents, geat grandparents, hands 🫶 kneading the dough for decades where some of it is done by machines nowadays. Think of the love and dedication that goes into such a long family tradition of bakers 🍪, spending the dark hours of the night baking for the townsfolk 👩‍🌾 and the customers further away. This isn’t something you find everywhere nowadays. It is something truly special, 🥯 Benalauría’s Panadería y Repostería Hermanos Guerrero is a true gem and today I celebrate them.

Do you know why it’s called 𝓣𝓐𝓟𝓐𝓢? 🧆
In Medieval times tavern hosts would often serve small servings of food together with drinks 🍺. They would put these small dishes on top of the glasses to prevent insects 🪰from falling into the drink. “Tapar” means to close and so through time they became known as 𝓣𝓐𝓟𝓐𝓢.
I can recommend you more than just tapas bars while you’re staying at Villa Sila, though….

So…. I go for a relaxing walk at sunset and I come across this!
Unexpected backseat drivers. 🐑 🐐
We don’t see a goat, a ewe and her lamb inside a car that often, although we love the creamy fresh goats’ cheese that my neighbour makes.

Another delicious gift from my orange tree 🍊
I first tried this traditional dish in Córdoba and I absolutely loved it.
It’s so simple: 𝙥𝙚𝙚𝙡 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙘𝙪𝙩 𝙖𝙣 𝙤𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚, 𝙖𝙙𝙙 𝙘𝙞𝙣𝙣𝙖𝙢𝙤𝙣 𝙨𝙪𝙜𝙖𝙧 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙖 𝙣𝙞𝙘𝙚 𝙤𝙡𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙤𝙞𝙡 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙜𝙤!
