Is it Monday ALREADY!?

As many of you know, I've been in business now over 13 years. I can't even believe it!

One pain point that I have is that I've always used my cell phone number as my main number for this business. Between personal calls and the ever increasing amount of SPAM calls I get on the daily, it's getting hard to screen for business calls.

I've finally decided to get a phone number that is specifically for SunKissed Travel. While I still prefer emails so I have a paper trail of all communication, if you would like to call, please use our new number at 952-479-0268. You will almost always get a voicemail, so please don't be surprised. My #1 priority is my family and having my kids home all day gives me limited amounts of time to take phone calls if something is not urgent. I will call you back at my earliest convenience always!

🌟 For any clients ON trips, you will still have access to my cell phone as these are priority calls 🌟

Thank you for understanding!

P.S. Have you reached out to get started on your winter or spring break travel yet?!

Our final destination highlight of the summer is Puerto Vallarta! Puerto Vallarta is a beach and resort town located on the west coast of Mexico, making it a great place to take in beautiful sunsets at its many well known beaches. The city is also known for water sports and nightlife, but there's more to it than just that! Below are some of the best things to do while visiting Puerto Vallarta!

Stroll El MalecĂłn! El MalecĂłn (Photo 2) is a boardwalk with many sights to see along the way! On your walk, you will be able to see sculptures (Photo 3), the famous Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Los Arcos Amphitheater (Photo 4), and you can even take a gander off the south end of the boardwalk and find Cuale River Island, which features markets, musical evenings, and a cultural center (Photo 5).

Visit the Romantic Zone! Also known as Old Town or Old Vallarta, this portion of Puerto Vallarta is more laid back and a bit less touristy than the main part of the city. Old Town is home to many great attractions like Playa de los Mu***os (Photo 6) which is known for water sports, Tile Park (Photo 7), cultural opportunities, and some of the city's best restaurants. It is definitely a must-visit!

Walk through the Vallarta Botanical Gardens (Photos 8-9)! While the name suggests this is an attraction for plant and flower lovers, there is much more to do here! Visitors who have expected to spend a couple hours here have ended up staying the whole day to do a bit of jungle rock climbing, hike, or swim a portion of the river. There is also a restaurant on site with rave reviews, so make sure to grab a bite to eat here!

Which of these attractions catches your eye most? Let us know in the comments below!

Please say Hi to our newest member of the team!

Hi I’m Niki the new travel advisor specializing in cruise line destinations.

I love cruising! I like being ON the water BUT not in the water. It’s a travel destination vacation on the water! My favorite places that I have stopped at have been the cruise lines own private island such as Great Stirrup Cay Owned by Norwegian Cruise line and Coco Cay owned by Royal Caribbean.
I love how the island is beautifully low key and not a lot of the hustle and bustle of other developed islands. It’s a relaxing go with the flow atmosphere which is exactly what I am looking for on vacation.

Few fun facts:
đŸ›łïž I am a Colorado Native, love me some mountains
đŸ›łïž I bake sourdough bread weekly
đŸ›łïžMy first cruise I was almost stranded in the Bahamas due to the start of the Covid pandemic due to the airports and the United States shutting down!

I’m excited to help plan your relaxing vacation on the ocean.

Let's take a trip to the west coast of Mexico for this week's destination spotlight, Los Cabos! Los Cabos is a region with two main cities, Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo, which are situated at the tip of the Baja California peninsula. The two cities create a great balance for travelers, with Cabo San Lucas being more lively, and San José del Cabo being a more peaceful destination. Besides night life and relaxation, there are some great activities here!

Take a sunset dinner cruise at Land's End! Also known as El Arco, Land's end is a natural arch rock arch. These rock formations off the beach combined with a sunset make a truly romantic and magical experience (Photo 1). El Arco is situated between Playa del Amor and Playa del Divorcio (Photo 2), so arrive earlier in the day to experience these two different beaches as well!

Explore Todos Santos! Once a sugar mill town, Todos Santos has transformed into a bit of a surf town, but has retained the charm of the past with its buildings. These buildings hold amazing boutiques, seafood restaurants, galleries, and more (Photos 3-4). It is also an official Magical Town, designating its cultural and historical importance. As a plus, the drive up from Cabo provides incredible views of the Pacific Ocean!

Relax or rent boating equipment at Chileno Beach! While there are many amazing beaches in Los Cabos, Chileno Beach is a bit quieter than most, making it a great location to truly relax or spend time with the family! It is also an incredible snorkeling location due to the calm and shallow waters as well as having its own reef (Photo 5-6).

Go whale watching! If you are visiting Cabo between December and April, whale watching is a must-do activity! Several species of whales migrate to the waters around the end of the peninsula each year, giving tourists an incredible experience (Photo 7). Some tour companies even take the pictures for you, so you can be truly present for the tour!

I don't know about you, but we here at Sunkissed Travel are ready to head to Cabo! Let us know if this is your next destination!

This week we are heading just a bit south for our next travel spotlight, Riviera Maya! This is a region of Mexico that stretches 75 miles along the Caribbean Sea, starting in Puerto Morelos and ending in Punta Allen. Riviera Maya is such an incredible destination and has something for everyone; beaches, jungle, archeological sites, amusement parks, food, and more! Here are some of our most recommended activities!

Take a tour to visit cenotes! Cenotes are sinkholes in limestone that have opened up to underground rivers or springs, creating a natural pool of freshwater. Some are great for just lounging and relaxing, while others provide more adventure. (Photo 2-3)

Stroll through the ruins in Tulum! Tulum is home to an amazing archeological site that sits atop a cliff overlooking the Caribbean Sea! The ruins are quite impressive, but so are the views! After exploring the city, you can take some stairs down to the beach just below the ruins and cool off! (Photo 3-4)

Spend a day, or two or three, visiting Xcaret! Xcaret is a local eco park that offers a great way to add more adventure to your vacation. Xcaret has multiple parks, each known for different activities, Xplor is known for zip-lines and adventure (Photo 5), Xel-Há is considered Xcaret’s water park (Photo 6), and Xenses is a sensory experience designed with illusions (Photo 7)! The best part about Xcaret? They have a resort as well, and visits to these parks are included in your stay with them! Stay tuned later in the week for more info on Hotel Xcaret Mexico!

Swim with turtles at Akumal Beach! Akumal Beach is a popular nesting place for sea turtles, making it one of the best locations to see or swim with turtles! With three species of sea turtles and many species of tropical fish and corals in the reef, this makes an amazing snorkeling location as well! The small beachfront town of Akumal also has plenty of food choices, local artisan shops, and more. (Photo 8-9)

Which activity is your must do or see for the Riviera Maya? Let us know in the comments below!

Our highlight this week is on the CancĂșn area of Mexico! CancĂșn is known for it's white beaches, coral reefs, and night life, but there is much more to do than just those! Here are some activities!

Hop on a ferry or catamaran to Isla Mujeres! Isla Mujeres is an island just north of the Hotel Zone of CancĂșn and is known as a laid back and relaxed island. Head to Playa del Norte (Photo 2) to live up to the island's reputation by relaxing on the beach, or head to Punta Sur (Photo 3-4) for a bit more adventure. Punta Sur is home to Garrafon Natural Reef Park, which offers various water activities like kayaking and snorkeling.

Experience night life and culture at Xoximilco! Xoximilco is a theme park that allows you to experience the culture of Mexico through a gondola ride, games, a dinner and culinary experience, and music performances. All this as well as a personal guide is included in your admission! (Photo 5)

Enjoy some retail therapy, or get souvenirs for family, at La Isla Shopping Village! This is more than just a shopping center, it is also an experience, being home to many well-known stores, smaller souvenir shops, a ferris wheel, interactive aquarium, and dining options! (Photo 6)

Take a day trip to ChichĂ©n ItzĂĄ! ChichĂ©n ItzĂĄ is one of the most well known archeological sites in the area, with its claim to fame being the home of the tallest Mayan pyramid (Photo 7). There are many other buildings at this site as well (Photo 8). While it is not actually in CancĂșn, many people say it is well worth the 2.5 hour drive to see. If you would like to experience ruins closer to CancĂșn, stop by El Rey Ruins (Photo 8), right in the middle of CancĂșn! While the ruins are not quite as spectacular, the presence of iguanas is a selling point for many visitors.

Which of these is your must see in the CancĂșn area? We would love to know! Let us know in the comments below or contact us today to start planning your trip to Mexico!

This week we are hopping to a different Caribbean Island to put our spotlight on Jamaica! (Photo 1) Jamaica is known for its landscapes, ranging from mountains to beaches, and its laid back atmosphere, as well as its production of rum and as the birthplace of reggae music. With all these claims to fame, there is something for everyone in Jamaica!

Take a day trip to Ocho Rios! Ocho Rios is an old fishing village turned resort town. But, it is home to Dunn's River Falls (Photo 2) and the Blue Hole (Photo 3), two must see natural attractions. Dunn's River Falls is a series of waterfalls created by terraced limestone "steps", which allow visitors to climb the falls. The Blue Hole is a fantastic place to swim or swing like Tarzan into the turquoise blue waters. These two natural attractions are quite close, and many tours include both stops.

Visit the Bob Marley Museum! Many people travel to Jamaica for the music and to see the birthplace of reggae music and famous artists such as Bob Marley, Bunny Wailer, and Peter Tosh. If this is you, The Bob Marley Museum (Photo 4) or Trench Town Culture Yard (Photo 5), which inspired the sounds of reggae, are a must see.

Take a tour at Appleton Estate! Appleton Estate is one of the older rum distilleries in Jamaica due to the perfect landscape for making rum. A tour of this estate includes learning the process of making the liquor and how the landscape aids in this process, as well as a tasting. There is also a restaurant and gift shop on-site. (Photo 6)

Swim in the Luminous Lagoon! The Luminous Lagoon is the largest, and arguably the best, of four places on earth that has bioluminescent waters. A night swim here is definitely an experience to remember! (Photo 7)

We don't know about you, but Jamaica sounds like a great destination for some winter travel! If these activities sound like fun, contact us today to start booking your trip!

The Dominican Republic is our next destination highlight! The Dominican Republic has nearly 1,000 miles of shoreline, with 250 miles of these miles considered to be some of the world's top beaches. (Photo 1) The DR, has so much more to offer, from learning the culture through dance and food, to exploring the rich history of the island, and immersing yourself in the landscapes, there is so much to do!

Explore Santo Domingo! Designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Santo Domingo is a colonial city rich in history with fantastic architecture. Cobblestone streets will lead you to various styles of buildings housing cafes, theaters, museums, art galleries, bars, restaurants and more! Explore the city solo or with a tour by foot, train, Sewgay, bike, or electric scooter! (Photos 2-3)

Roast your own coffee at Pedro GarcĂa Coffee Trail! If you are a coffee lover, this is a must do activity, as the DR is known for its coffee in the Caribbean. At this coffee plantation, you will learn the process of making coffee, from roasting to tasting!

Visit CotubanamĂĄ National Park, home of Saona Island (Photo 4), TaĂno caves (Photo 5), and Catalina Island (Photo 6). This national park is known for so much including the most important turtle-nesting location in the DR, one of the best places in the country for snorkeling and diving, and impressive coral reefs. Many people enjoy a day trip to the Island of Saona for its natural beauty, picturesque scenes, relaxing, and enjoying some Dominican music.

Explore Altos de ChavĂłn! This model 16th century Mediterranean village will transport you to another time and place with its architecture. Situated above the ChavĂłn River, this village gives incredible views and a medieval feel. The various buildings house restaurants, bars, artesian wares, and cigar, clothing, and jewelry shops. (Photos 7-8)

Of course, we also highly recommend lounging on one (or a few) of the many world-famous beaches the country has to offer! Which of these activities draws you to the Dominican Republic?

This week is our final week focusing on Hawaii, and for this, we are heading to the Big Island! (Photo 1) The Island of Hawai'i is the youngest island of the chain and is the most diverse in climate zones, ranging from wet tropical to polar tundra! These dramatic climates are created in part by the massive volcanoes on the island.

Speaking of volcanoes, our number one activity recommendation is to visit Volcanoes National Park! This national park is home to two active volcanoes, Mauna Loa and Kilauea. Kilauea is the main attraction, erupting as recently as January of 2023, but Mauna Loa is also quite spectacular at over 13,000 feet tall, occasionally having snow on its peak. There are many trails in the park to explore these volcanoes! (Photos 2-3)

If you are into astronomy, or just like looking at the stars and finding constellations, another great activity is to stargaze from the summit of Mauna Kea! Mauna Kea is a dormant volcano that is home to one of the world's largest telescopes, used to study the universe. As you can imagine, this is one of the best places to star gaze! (Photo 4)

Exploring Kailua-Kona is another great way to spend time on the Big Island. This town is full of restaurants and shops and has many more things to do! If you like learning a bit of local history, the Hulihe’e Palace is a great stop to learn about Hawaii's history and royalty (Photo 5). Kailua-Kona is also a popular place to go on a night dive with manta rays (Photo 6), a true "choose your adventure" location!

Kealakekua Bay is another popular attraction for history lovers and snorkelers alike! It was here that Captain Cook first came to the islands and later perished. A monument has been placed to memorialize him, and it is near the monument that snorkelers have raved about the variety of fish they saw, likening it to an aquarium! (Photo 7) Kealakekua Bay is also home to the traditional religious site Hikiau Heiau.

There are so many amazing sites to see on the Big Island! Which is your must see? Let us know in the comments below!

This week, we are hopping on over to the Hawaiian island of Kauai! Kauai is known as the "Garden Island" and certainly lives up to its name with its mountains, valleys, and cliffs being covered in lush rainforests and vegetation. Rivers and waterfalls make this a beautiful place like no other in Hawaii (Photo 1). Because of the landscape, there are many nature inspired activities to do here!

Hike Waimea Canyon in Koke'e State Park! Waimea Canyon ( Photo 2) is nicknamed "The Grand Canyon of the Pacific" and features scenery and landscapes different from any of the other Hawaiian islands. Some choose to hike the canyon, but many lookout points along Koke'e Road allow visitors to see the canyon by car as well. The rest of Koke'e State Park has some other amazing landscapes as well! (Photo 3)

Visit the town of Hanapepe! This town is known as the art capital of Kauai and houses many historical buildings, which served as inspiration for "Lilo and Stitch"! The buildings now house restaurants, shops, galleries and more. This little town is the perfect place to purchase souvenirs from local artisans, from art and jewelry to pottery and clothing. (Photos 4-5)

See Kilauea Lighthouse in Kilauea Point National Wildlife Refuge! Listed in the National Register of Historic Places, Kilauea lighthouse played a key role in the first trans-Pacific flight from the West Coast to Hawaii. It is situated in Kilauea Point National Wildlife Refuge, which is an incredible place to see sea birds on the 180ft ocean bluff. Humpback whales may even be seen from December to May! (Photo 6)

Take a train ride at Kauai Plantation Railway at Kilohana! Explore the historic sugarcane plantation by train and see essential Hawaiian crops as well as sheep and goats at a stop! After your ride, hang around the plantation for Luau Kalamaku, an authentic luau! A dinner buffet of fresh local ingredients is included in this experience. (Photos 7-8)

In addition to these sights and activities, Kauai is known for having som amazing beaches! Make sure to stop at a few while you are there!
