Arabian Pearl Gulf School International School History of APG

APG is a private school situated at Capital Governorate Manama, Khamis, Kingdom of Bahrain.

Having passion to provide quality education to the children of Bahrain and with the objective to encourage learners to become highly educated citizens with international mindset, Mr. Mohammed Moosa Al A'ali founded APG in June 1996 and named it Arabian Pearl Gulf to carry the national reflection attached to the country, Bahrain, as Pearl of the Gulf. Inspired to meet the growing demands of Bahrain

Government to encourage private sectors to open educational institutions, Mr. Al A’ali opened APG to 120 students and initially offered three levels—preschool, kindergarten and grade one—during the first year of its operation. Realizing and recognizing every child’s equal rights to quality education at fair cost and with its aim to develop the child’s learning abilities, academic and social skills that will enable him/her to cope up with life’s daily challenges, APG offers its educational services to Bahraini and non-Bahraini children who share a common genuine desire and strong capability to meet the school’s high standards. APG is successfully run by its School Principal, Mrs. Ebtisam Saeed Al-Zeera, a Bahraini citizen who believes that the learner is the center of the learning process and that all other decisions and activities are built around the integral development of the learner. For nearly fourteen years, APG has grown steadily on a high professional scale having high emphasis on morals and values. It has expanded significantly with more than 1000 students from Preschool to Grade 12 in the School Year 2009-2010 and has been authorized to offer international certificates such as the IGCSE for Grades 9 &10 and the IB Diploma Programme for Grades 11 & 12. Students who successfully complete the Grade 12 level earn a National Certificate recognized by the Ministry of Education and at the same time an International Baccalaureate Diploma authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization. The IB Diploma Programme is an international education and the IB Diploma is a world-recognized qualification on a university level. A REFLECTION OF THE APG PRINCIPLE AND PHILOSOPHY
Student-Centered
At APG, the learners are the center of the teaching-learning process. While quantity of learning is emphasized, quality of education is never compromised. Student development and achievement is the focal point of the educational system. Students are discouraged to fail and encouraged to succeed through constant and consistent follow-up on their progress. Student progress is closely monitored through a unique system of academic tracking of the individual student’s performance. Interactive Instruction
Lessons are given to APG learners on an interactive level of instruction. Teachers are also classroom facilitators. Students are offered the opportunity to present and perform in class and exchange ideas with each other allowing every member of the class to grow personally with the ethics of a professional. Integrated Curriculum
APG instructional design is an integration of school-based and international standards curriculum which sharpens the minds and strengthens the hearts of the students while opening the door to the successful graduates towards a bigger horizon and a higher possibility for admission to a university through the National Certificate and International Diploma. Collaborative Communication
There is a strong link between APG School and the students’ families. Active communication exists between the School Administration and the parents. Administrators, teachers, staff and parents work hand-in-hand to motivate the students to push up their performance to its peak. Open Days and conferences are held by the school to meet and discuss with the parents about their children who are enrolled in the school academic programmes. Cultural Diversity
Teachers and students at APG are multinational and multicultural. The diversity in culture helps students to better understand human nature and gives them a great opportunity to fully appreciate their own culture and other’s as well which allow them to become more open-minded to people, places and situations. Individual Immersion
APG learners are exposed to a real-life situation through immersion. They are allowed to experience service and enhance creativity through the in-campus and off-campus activities. They go on local and international trips for recreational and educational purposes where they are privileged to grow into young and responsible adults and eventually become emotionally mature professionals.
