Discover the incredible stories of strength, resistance, and leadership that have shaped British Columbia’s Black communities. Hope Meets Action is a must-see travelling exhibit created by the BC Black History Awareness Society in partnership with the Royal BC Museum.

This powerful exhibit reclaims and retells the often-overlooked history of Black British Columbians, connecting the past to the present and inspiring hope for the future. Dive into the legacy of Black leaders whose courageous actions resonate today.

Join us at the kickoff celebration of the fourth annual Bright Walk in White Rock on December 7, 4 – 8 p.m. at Memorial Park. This free, family friendly event will feature dazzling lights, festive displays, live entertainment, food trucks, the mischievous Grinch, and a visit from Santa! The event is presented by Thrifty Foods, RE/MAX Colonial Pacific Realty , and Kendelle Pollitt - Pier Law & Mediation , with support from the Government of BC. The community is invited to bring donations for Sources Food Bank, which will be on-site.

White Rock’s Uptown Festive Shopping Crawl invites locals and visitors alike to kick off the holiday season with a night of festive fun and local shopping on November 16, from 4 to 7 p.m. This free event is packed with seasonal cheer, live entertainment, and exciting giveaways along Johnston Road!

Event Highlights:

🎄 4:00 p.m.: The evening begins with a holiday tree lighting ceremony at Five Corners, featuring a heartwarming performance by the White Rock Elementary Choir and a welcome from Mayor Megan Knight.

🎅 Guests can enjoy selfies with Santa, festive photo stations, and vibrant holiday displays along the way.

✨ Participants are encouraged to stroll Johnston Road, visit participating shops, and take advantage of exclusive discounts. A special shopping passport contest offers a chance to win over $500 in prizes for those who visit enough local businesses.
